The Trump administration’s plan for mass layoffs at the State Department has left much of the workforce exasperated and embittered, tanking morale as extra demands were made to assist U.S. citizens seeking to flee the Middle East amid Israel’s war with Iran, employees say.
At the direction of Secretary of State Marco Rubio, the State Department informed Congress in May that it planned to reduce its U.S. workforce by more than 15 percent — almost 2,000 people — as part of a sweeping reorganization intended to streamline what he has called a “bloated bureaucracy that stifles innovation and misallocates scarce resources.” Separately, he has accused certain bureaus within the department of pursuing a “radical political ideology.”
Rubio had set a July 1 timeline for the dismissals, but execution of the plan is contingent on a favorable ruling from the Supreme Court, which is evaluating President Donald Trump’s sweeping attempt to fire federal workers across numerous government agencies. It’s unclear when the court could act.

Boo hoo. Welcome to the party, pal.
The morale of dead weight that’s leaving isn’t important. The morale of the rest will be fine.
The WP runs to rescue Hillary’s Minions.
Rubio has been surprisingly good.
The swamp is being drained!
Golly; I feel so bad for these bureaucrats. Who’ll order rubber bands and paperclips now?
...as objective morality
returns and
skyrockets. reprobates hardest hit.
Is a state department necessary? I’d vote “yes.”
Should there be an ambassador to every nation? Not necessarily. Staffing would be considerably cut in a for-profit business.
The military’s strict MTOE system should be imposed on all departments if it isn’t already.
Too bad, so sad, well anyway.
The gaslight media was singularly uninterested in the morale of millions of Americans crushed by the pandemic lockdowns, masking and social distancing mandates, “nonessential” business closures vaccine mandates, and by the social unrest and crimes of (mostly peaceful) protests and riots, and from illegal immigration.
So, in summary, go to hell.
Hooray. The USA’s worst enemy takes a big hit. Shut State/CIA down completely. Then expand out and fire every govt employee with an Ivy League degree.
That’s a funny euphemism for surfing pron sites.
It will be a day of celebration for patriotic Americans.
And maybe DC can ship the tanker cars filled with liberal tears to Texas to make up for the lack of rain.
Aside from their obvious anti-American views and actions, the State Department is virtually useless overseas.
The consulates over-charge Americans for every service despite global taxation. They are staffed by arrogant lowlifes who try to bully Americans. Whenever I had to go to the US consulate overseas my blood pressure went through the roof because I know I’d be dealing with some government flunky who thought I needed their help. When in fact I was there to fix something that they screwed up 9 out of 10 times.
Fire them all. They are only overseas to spy on Americans.
I’m a supervisor within the Department of the Army. I recently had to reduce three positions on my 15 person team.
We instruct and operate Apache helicopter procedural trainers/simulators. Fortunately, we were able to find two other positions on the installation that weren’t filled and weren’t being reduced that they can fill and have their talent utilized. I served in the Army with two of these guys and I consider them my friends.
There’s no discrimination in the government cuts. Just as it should be. It sucks for the individuals, but we all get it.
He has.
Until a federal judg....oops, never mind!
