Trump Slashes CO2 Regs Behind War on Energ
The New American ^ | June 26, 2025 | Alex Newman

The Trump administration just dealt another blow to the anti-energy, anti-prosperity agenda pursued by the Biden administration underpinned by the man-made “climate change” hypothesis. Under the proposed repeal of previous “climate” regulations on energy production announced this month, many of the power plants targeted for destruction could remain open, and CO2 would no longer be considered dangerous “pollution.” Naturally, that has the “climate” movement screaming bloody murder.

According to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the effect of the so-called greenhouse gases coming from U.S. energy production using hydrocarbons (or “fossil fuels”) is so small as to be negligible. The agency also pointed out that the CO2 from power plants is not actually hurting people’s health, contrary to the demonstrably false claims of previous administrations. The latest announcement is part of a suite of two dozen “climate” decrees being eliminated by the administration.

Under the plan, coal and hydrocarbons could continue to provide power for U.S. consumers and businesses. “Rest assured President Trump is the biggest supporter of clean, beautiful coal,” EPA chief Lee Zeldin announced at the agency’s headquarters. “EPA is helping pave the way for American energy dominance because energy development underpins economic development, which in turn strengthens national security.”

The EPA regulatory changes, explained in a proposed rule released this month, would “repeal all greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions standards for fossil fuel-fired power plants,” the agency explained. “The EPA is further proposing to make a finding that GHG [greenhouse gas] emissions from fossil fuel-fired power plants do not contribute significantly to dangerous air pollution.”

CO2: The Gas of Life

In reality, CO2, the greenhouse gas in question, does not contribute at all to “air pollution.” It is known to serious scientists as the “gas of life.” Indeed, it is exhaled by all living people...

Anyone who still believes CO2 is dangerous to “Mother Earth” can do their part and stop exhaling their own CO2.

America would be a much better & saner place without their added CO2.

Excellent. Tear down every last shibboleth of and restriction stemming from Gaia Worship.

Britain, Germany and Spain should serve as ample warning to others.

If CO2 is a pollutant, then Jesus was a polluter while on earth. How do liberal Christians explain that?

Reminder. The bible of energy — the World Statistical Report published annually for 70 years by BP (still from BP but publication now outsourced to Energy Institute) had its yearly release yesterday.

High points:

Russian gas production +7%.

US oil consumption flat at 19 million barrels/day

Chinese oil consumption also flat at 16.5ish million bpd
(unusual, they typically grow each year)

India oil consumption +2% to 5.5 mbpd

Venezuela oil production +13%

Iran oil production also up sharply, sanctions meaning nothing

Saudis and Russia both with oil production in slight decline, in accordance with OPEC+ agreement. Neither fell off a cliff. Mild restraint.

Saudis, with a fraction of Japan’s population, surpasses Japan in oil **consumption**, now in 4th place behind US, China and India

Norway and UK both with sharp declines in oil production as the North Sea goes empty.

I hope for the day when the climatistas scream because they are literally being murdered in a well deserved bloodbath! They are vile evil.

Turn a blank sheet of paper sideways. On the left write “weather event” in small letters, draw a circle around the words, and then draw a small arrow pointing to the right side. On the far right, write the words "manmade climate change” in small letters, draw a circle around the words, and then draw a small arrow pointing to the circle.

Is there not a large blank space in the middle? Have you ever seen a story which fills in this area? Have you ever read a story that uses words like sun and ocean, which are the two enormous engines determining temperature? Cannot the stories that you have seen be inserted into one or the other circles?

I will submit there is no evidence of man-made global warming because no adherent to the popular mythology will acknowledge the existence of the sun and oceans. All I have ever seen are fraudulent to accurate comments on weather events or physical phenomenon involving temperature followed by an assertion man-made global warming is the cause.

In the hard sciences of Math and Physics, the earth’s climate is known as an open system, meaning all influencers are probabilistic and not deterministic. Any assertions must be less than certain, but we are always treated to infallibility statements like those for the boiling point of water. Popular reasoning requires a complete disconnect between events and conclusions and is no more rigorous than Middle Age alchemy.

I have yet to find any article which attempts to measure the influence of the sun and ocean and then ascribe an increment to human activity. It was only since the late 70’s that it was possible to attempt to confirm changes in the sun’s radiance independent of earth. Without a rigorous solution involving those two enormous engines, models created provide outcomes no more elegant than what is left behind when a brand new puppy is turned loose in a house decorated with white carpets and white furniture.

Even before that time any true scientist would have said data collected could not be analyzed, because people had known for centuries the sun was a variable star and it was not possible to separate influences for any mathematical computations. Now that it might be possible to separate the influence of the sun but not the oceans, the analysis of such a complicated interaction is still highly problematic. Therefore, political rhetoric must be substituted for application of the scientific method.

To all the clueless unwashed masses, look up the word: “Photosynthesis.”

Ask also why plant nurseries pipe CO2 INTO their buildings.

Consider banning soda because it’s killing the planet.

Consider exterminating all mammals to save the earth.

When the rats changed global cooling to global warming then to climate change, they shot themselves in the foot. It was pollution they were after, but then they realized all the pollution was coming mostly from blue states.

Every time mankind tries to 'regulate' something, it gets mucked-up.

CO2 is good for the earth, and its flora & fauna.

I’ve always wondered what was wrong with those who thought CO2 was a pollutant when it is a natural part of our atmosphere. Good grief! That’s grade school science.

But but the earth makes oil all the time in unlimited amounts! We will never be out of oil because of oil is not from dinosaurs....and on and on about some quackery.

Fact is every major and minor basin on earth has been surveyed, studied, and quantified. Petroleum Geologists have scoured the plant we know where and how much technically recoverable oil is left. At 2023 usage rates we have 46 years until depletion. That’s not the critical point the point where production cannot keep up with demand is the breaking point because that supply imbalance starts the price wars for resources.

No one has ever presented to SEG,AAPG,GSA or any other geological scientific community evidence of the affirmative for abiotic liquid hydrocarbons it’s full on quackery.

The Permian is not producing new wells at the rate it needs to keep up with production. What’s more the new wells type curves peak 180 lower and decline faster as the geopressure gradients drop via total hydrocarbon system depletion. We simply cannot drill baby drill out of reservoir depletion. But you know this already the problem is the typical boomer just want to keep on keeping on so they don’t have to even contemplate changing their lifestyle or God forbid do anything to mess up “their retirement”

Cute meme , climate change does happen ,is happening and always will happen. It’s driven by the giant thermonuclear fireball in sky. It’s solar wind output and luminescence are the main driver and the cycles of orbital changes the earth’s orbit goes through. CO2 follows those changes not causes them.

My 6th grade science taught me SOLAR activity drives all weather patterns...including “global cooling” hoax of the 1970s.
