So after "discussing"(heck, she's seven, so I make the choice but let her feel like she's a part of it)it with my daughter, we've decided to start home-schooling in the fall. I am asking for help for my son in Eastville Virginia.He was arrested for possesion of stolen merchandise(car) and methamphetamines.He has no money to hire an attorney and his court appointed lawyer will not return his calls. OK, listen up. I am prepared to get flamed but I seriously need help. I am deeply in debt and need out. I'm not asking for donations, or sympathy. I am using Windows XP Home and PowerPoint 2000. When I try to drag a .jpg file from Windows Explorer onto a PowerPoint slide, all I get is a text object that lists the location and name of the file, not the image associated with the file itself. What's going on, and how can I actually get the image into PowerPoint via drag and drop? I know I can do an "insert/picture/from file" but I'd rather drag and drop. Thanks.

A friend's cat appears to have eaten some reel to reel tape, said tape appears to be obstructing her digestive tract. I have a DVD I need to salvage if possible. My kids have managed to scratch it (but it doesn't look horribly scratched, just superficial scuffs). I have heard there is programs that allow one to extract the infomation so I can record it (or just view it on my computer).
