A message circulating on a Haitian WhatsApp group in Springfield, Ohio, lists the best destinations for those fleeing the town in the wake of Donald Trump’s election win. All of them are states run by Democrats who could provide sanctuary for Haitians worried about being deported following Mr Trump’s election victory: New York, New Jersey, Illinois, Vermont, Massachusetts and California. It is believed that thousands have left for those states in the weeks after polling day. More of Ohio’s sizeable Haitian population is preparing to follow.

As Alabama's leaders lament the ongoing influx of migrants entering the state, one organization that facilitates resettling refugees in Alabama claims to currently partner with the state legislature and has former House Speaker Mac McCutcheon, now the Madison County Commission chairman, and Huntsville Mayor Tommy Battle on its board. Much has been made in recent months, both in Alabama and nationwide, of the proliferation of immigrants flooding into smaller towns and communities. After several reports of specifically Haitian migrants arriving in towns like Athens and Sylacauga, Gov. Kay Ivey and lawmakers began speaking out against the influx, blaming the Biden...

Is the migrant crisis plaguing the U.S. just the spontaneous movement of the globe's peoples to the U.S. ... or the work of an evil little banana-republic dictator plotting to take down the U.S.? Based on a new report from Agence France-Presse, which ran on the Voice of America's website, it actually looks like the latter: … analysts say that the government of Nicaragua's President Daniel Ortega, a longtime nemesis of the United States, has deliberately made it easier for migrants to bypass the Darien by flying straight into his country and then heading north overland. Manuel Orozco, a migration...

NBC News anchor Lester Holt was quick to blame former President Donald Trump — along with his running mate, Senator JD Vance (R-OH) — for the heated campaign rhetoric that he ultimately linked to what appears to be a second assassination attempt on Trump’s life. Holt suggested — just hours after United States Secret Service agents stopped the second would-be Trump assassin in eight weeks — that comments from both Trump and Vance about the impact of a massive influx of Haitian migrants on a small Ohio town had led not only to that but to threats against hospitals and...

According to Panama Foreign Minister Erika Mouynes, recent rush of Haitian migrants is only the beginningNearly 30,000 Haitian migrants have already made their way over the U.S.-Mexico border in recent weeks, but Panama's foreign minister says far more are on their way – and she has been sounding the alarm for months. In a new interview with Axios, Foreign Minister Erika Mouynes said that since the beginning of 2021 more than 85,000 Haitians have crossed through Panama and that she believes "they all are heading toward the U.S." The Haitians have been coming from Colombia, traveling through the dangerous Darién...

temporary camp in Del Rio has grown with staggering speed in recent days during a massive surge in migration that has overwhelmed the authorities. DEL RIO, Texas — Thousands of migrants were crowded under a bridge outside the border community of Del Rio on Thursday, part of a massive surge in migration across the Rio Grande this week that has overwhelmed the authorities and caused significant delays in processing the arrivals. The U.S. Border Patrol said that more than 9,000 migrants, mostly from Haiti, were being held in a temporary staging area under the Del Rio International Bridge as agents...

Did you ever imagine there would be a leader in the White House who would refuse to condemn communism by name?At one time most of us probably thought it could never happen. Unfortunately, we seem to be there right now and that’s a chilling thought. An evil ideology that we’ve fought for decades, responsible for the deaths of millions. and the Biden team seems incapable of even calling out the “c” word.Fox’s Peter Doocy definitely put Jen Psaki on the spot big time today. As we reported earlier, Doocy asked a great question in regard to the situation with the runaway Texas...

MIAMI, Florida (CNN) -- More than 200 Haitians -- including many children -- jumped from a 50-foot wooden boat near Key Biscayne Tuesday afternoon, swimming to shore and swarming the highway leading into Miami. Video from local news outlets showed people jumping into the water and swimming or wading to the beach. The Coast Guard said the boat ran aground. Many of the Haitians ran onto the Rickenbacker Causeway, which leads to Miami. Several jumped in the back of a black pickup truck and others appeared to try to get rides from motorists on the bridge. Local police rounded up...

Hundreds of riot police chased a group of roving youths early Monday after a night of rioting and vandalism in a North Montreal neighbourhood set off by the fatal police shooting of an 18-year-old man over the weekend. The park is in a predominantly Haitian neighbourhood where tensions between police and young people run high, according to residents. "The police are always creeping around here, hassling people," one unidentified youth told CBC News as he stood in front of a looted butcher shop. The violence began after a Sunday afternoon protest at Henri Bourassa Park, the site of Saturday's police...

Haitians say their hunger is real Thu Apr 10, 2008 4:45pm EDT By Jim Loney PORT-AU-PRINCE, April 10 (Reuters) - Elta Petithomme has been scouring the Haitian capital's garbage-strewn main market street for hours, searching for something to feed her four young children. Today, pickings are slim. Yesterday she sold a cellphone for 50 gourdes, the equivalent of about $1.30, enough to buy some bread, sugar and fried plantains. That's all the children, all under the age of 6, had to eat for the day. "Some days neighbors will cook and give us some food, as little as it is....
