President Trump appeared to be pleased with the Democratic National Committee chair results on Saturday, tweeting a sarcastic congratulations to the victor, Tom Perez, and the Republican Party. Congratulations to Thomas Perez, who has just been named Chairman of the DNC. I could not be happier for him, or for the Republican Party!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) February 25, 2017 In response, Perez, the former Obama labor secretary, told Trump to wipe the grin off his face. He, his deputy chair Keith Ellison, and all Democrats are now a united front, he argued. Call me Tom. And don't get too happy. @keithellison...

Democrats Just Ensured More Success For Republicans The only people who are angered by the decision to make Tom Perez the next DNC chair are the Democrats. Republicans are actually very happy that he was selected for the position although they would have been just as happy with Keith Ellison because both candidates ensure the Republicans are going to gain even more ground over the next few years as both are terrible candidates. Democrats on the other hand are not so happy. The hashtag #DemExit was trending on Twitter shortly after news broke that Perez was the next DNC Chair...

ATLANTA (CNN)--Progressive activists lashed out at the Democratic Party on Saturday after their choice to lead its national committee, Minnesota Rep. Keith Ellison, was defeated by former Obama administration Labor Secretary Tom Perez in a tight and unexpectedly contentious contest. After the results were announced, angry Ellison loyalists rose from their seats in the back of the ballroom at the Westin Peachtree Plaza Hotel and tried to shout down outgoing interim chair Donna Brazile, chanting, "Party for the people, not big money!" "This shows that the Democratic Party didn't learn their lesson," said Alexa Vaca, an Ellison backer and supporter...

Perez beats Ellision 235-200 on 2nd ballot. I know the CW around here was for Ellison, but Perez is a better choice if you're a Republican because the fired up portion of the Dems were for Ellison. This will de-inflate them and they will become less engaged. The Lobbyists and Big Money won over grassroots today.

U.S. Democrats elected former Labor Secretary Tom Perez as chairman on Saturday, choosing a veteran of the Obama administration to lead the daunting task of rebuilding the party and heading the opposition to Republican President Donald Trump. Members of the Democratic National Committee, the administrative and fundraising arm of the party, picked Perez on the second round of voting after one of the most crowded and competitive party leadership elections in decades.

Today in Atlanta 447 members of the Democrat National Committee will meet to vote on the next Chairperson for the DNC. The two top candidates are Representative Keith Ellison and former Labor Secretary Tom Perez. The vote will determine which path the Democrat party will choose in the next several election cycles. Will they choose the direction of Black Live Matter Islamic Socialists, the coalition of Keith Ellison; or the more traditional Limo-Liberal Moonbat Communists of Tom Perez. The latest insider discussions put the race very close.

Minnesota Rep. Keith Ellison appears to be the odds on favorite to win Saturday’s election to head the Democratic National Committee. That seems like good news for Republicans seeking to expand their congressional majority in 2018, a fact President Trump seemed to gleefully acknowledge this week. “One thing I will say about Rep. Keith Ellison, in his fight to lead the DNC, is that he was the one who predicted early that I would win!” Trump said in a Wednesday message on Twitter. It’s no secret that incumbent presidents usually have a tough time in midterm elections. President Obama lost...

As the race for the Democratic national chair comes down to the wire, filmmaker Michael Moore said Thursday the Democratic Party needs "fresh blood," new people like Minnesota congressman Keith Ellison. "The Democrats have a real chance to change things," Moore told CNN's Don Lemon on "CNN Tonight." "The old guard, God bless them, they've got to go. We need Keith Ellison as the DNC chair."
  • Alan Dershowitz: Why I Will Leave the Democratic Party If Ellison Is Elected its Chairman

Tomorrow the Democratic National Committee (DNC) will have to choose the direction of the Democratic Party, as well as its likely composition. It will be among the most important choices the DNC has ever had to make. There has been a powerful push from the hard-left of the Democratic Party, led by senator Bernie Sanders, to elect Keith Ellison chairman. If he is elected, I will quit the party after 60 years of loyal association and voting. I will become an independent, continuing to vote for the best candidates, most of whom, I assume, will still be Democrats. But I...
