Performance reviews ... Senior Executive Service, top bureaucrats serving throughout the government and across administrations, swelled to around 8,000 under Biden. Most live in Washington, D.C. They typically earn an annual salary between $183,000 and $250,000. An overwhelming majority, 96% .. receive above-average performance ratings even as public trust in government continues to crater. But standards will soon tighten. It is called “forced distribution.” The new OPM rule .. eliminates Biden-era requirements that evaluated executives based on their promotion of diversity, equity, and inclusion. The stated goal is instead an evaluation of job performance, not political ideology. Now only top...

A British farmer has warned that Britons could be facing "rationing" of bread products as the agricultural industry has slapped the Labour Government with a wheat strike, amid their ongoing inheritance tax raid. In a fresh round of protests against Chancellor Rachel Reeves, farmers have been urged to accelerate a bread shortage and "empty supermarket shelves" by refusing to release the wheat they produce. The goal of the protest, according to one of the organisers, is to trigger a situation akin to "panic-buying" across the country, similar to what was experienced with petrol and toilet rolls in the past during...

In some regions of the world, wild-caught insects have been a valuable source of protein for centuries. However, the mass farming of insects for food and feed is a modern practice. Over the last decade, the insect farming industry has been hailed as a silver bullet for many of our food system’s problems. The U.N. Food and Agriculture Organization has been a proponent since 2013, when it published a report advocating the potential of farmed insect protein to contribute to global food security. Things haven’t worked out quite as planned, however, a reality that was brought into stark relief recently...

Federal authorities arrested 68 members of the notorious gang Tren De Aragua this week, according to a new report from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). “In less than 100 days, the Trump Administration has arrested 394 members of the Tren De Aragua—a vicious gang known for human trafficking, kidnapping, drug trafficking, and other heinous acts terrorizing American communities,” DHS stated on March 21. Tren De Aragua originated in the Venezuelan state of Aragua and later spread to other South American nations and the United States. On his first day in office, President Donald Trump signed a presidential action that...

There is nothing organic about the effort to destroy Tesla. It is a well-coordinated, highly funded, and inherently violent "protest" movement that is designed by radical activists, backed by billionaires and foundations, approved of by high-level Democrats, and already employing lawyers who carefully draft language for the leaders to use that slightly separates them from the violent actions of their Brownshirts. "We need to destroy Tesla and Elon Musk. Peacefully, of course, but you can understand why some people use guns, Molotov cocktails, vandalism, doxx every Tesla owner and use threats against them. But we sure don't want to do...

The Judicial Insurrection Is Worse Than You Think The point of all the injunctions and restraining orders is to preserve the supreme rule of unelected and unaccountable bureaucrats. At this point it’s not too much to say that the federal judiciary has plunged us into a constitutional crisis. The fusillade of injunctions and temporary restraining orders issued by district court judges in recent weeks against the Trump administration — on everything from foreign aid to immigration enforcement to Defense Department enlistment policy to climate change grants for Citibank — boggles the mind.More nationwide injunctions and restraining orders have been issued...

Carney is a former Goldman Sachs banker and UN special envoy for climate action ... Canada’s self-described ‘globalist’ new Prime Minister Mark Carney ... Carney criticized President Trump during his acceptance speech when he won the Liberal leadership last Sunday, saying that Canada’s tariffs against the United States will remain until the Americans "show us respect" and added that Canadians "are always ready when someone else drops the gloves." He also tried to tie Trump to his main challenger. "Donald Trump thinks he can weaken us with his plan to divide and conquer," while "Pierre Poilievre’s plan will leave us...

Christmas 2009, 23 year old Omar Farouk Abdulmutallab tried to blow up a plane heading from the Netherlands to Detroit Michigan. He was not successful. Philip Haney was a founding member of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) in 2002, serving as a Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officer. Fluent in Arabic and knowledgeable about Islamic culture, he played a significant role in identifying potential terrorist threats. He left DHS after 15 years and became a whistleblower. In an article he wrote for The Hill, he stated that the Obama administration had forced him to remove raw intelligence data...

The world is in flux. Our much-discussed national vibe shift suggests that Americans are beginning to feel the change, but it understates what’s happening by a very large margin. What we’re experiencing is of global significance: the dawn of a new era.

Holocaust survivor Marian Turski reflects on the dangers of bystanding in this speech excerpt. This is an excerpt from the speech by Holocaust survivor Marian Turski, which he gave at the memorial ceremony on 27 January 2020 in Auschwitz. I shall not be telling you about my sufferings, about my two death marches, about how I experienced the end of the war, when I weighed just 32 kilos, verging on the edge of exhaustion and life itself. I shall not be telling you about the very worst experience, the tragedy of being separated from my nearest loved ones and sensing...

Starting February 10, European consumers may find a surprising new ingredient in their everyday meals—UV-treated mealworm powder. Under a new EU regulation, up to 4% of this insect-based protein can be added to bread, cheese, pasta, and other products. Derived from the larvae of the mealworm beetle and treated with UV light for safety, the ingredient is being promoted as a sustainable protein alternative. However, those with shellfish allergies should be cautious due to potential cross-reactivity.

Peter Hitchens tears Net Zero to shreds, to the dismay of BBC panellists and audience members. "We didn't just close down our coal fired power stations, we blew them up, we were so certain we were right to do so. At the same time, China is building the equivalent of two new coal fired power stations a week. India has a vast expansion programme of coal fired power stations." "The contribution which this country is making to these outcomes is not merely minimal, it's non-existent. Everything that we do is completely blotted out by what much larger countries are doing...

British government estimates have claimed that nearly a tenth of all English farmland will need to be ‘rewilded’ by 2050 to hit green agenda targets. Projections in the government’s “land use framework” said that approximately 760,000 hectares, or around nine per cent of agricultural land in England, will need to “change away from agricultural land for environmental and climate benefits,” the Financial Times reports. The government report said that to meet climate goals, an additional nine per cent of agricultural land would need to adopt so-called ‘sustainable’ farming practices.

President Trump gets a thing or two done. In his first term in office, President Trump apparently thought he could operate as if the federal government were a corporation he headed as Chief Executive and Commander in Chief of the armed forces. He assumed those beneath him would give him honest counsel, would perform their assigned duties, and follow his directives. He learned otherwise. All the steps he took the first week after beginning his astonishing second term are those a wise CEO and commander in chief must take to do the job he promised and was elected to do....

To all my fellow Freepers who live in California, Especially those in the Los Angeles area, I'm monitoring the out-of-control fires that are raging in your area. My heart breaks for you all. The scenes I am seeing look like a Biblical disaster. A small nuclear device would have done less damage. The entire LA area looks like it will be utterly destroyed. I'm leaving out any discussion of fault, that is fodder for another thread. This thread is simply to wish you all well. Please remember, your life (and the life of those you love, including pets) is of...

One of the strangest if not most hypocritical elements of the battle against industrial wind projects is the silence of the normally loud environmental lobby. Massive wind turbines are not only destroying enormous vistas of beauty but studies show they are wiping out bats, insects, and large migratory birds while drying out soil and impacting water tables. But where are the environmentalists with their placards? Where are the road blockades? Where are the millennials gluing themselves to our legislative floors? Nowhere. They are dead silent. https://www.windconcerns.com/the-environmentalists-have-disappeared/ https://www.windconcerns.com/the-environmentalists-have-disappeared/ https://www.windconcerns.com/the-environmentalists-have-disappeared/ https://www.windconcerns.com/the-environmentalists-have-disappeared/ But surely the impacts on livestock and human health, well-documented around...

Not soon after the general election, and within two weeks of each other, two major financial institutions have left a United Nations Net Zero Banking Alliance (NZBA). This is after they joined three years ago, pledging to require environmental social governance standards (ESG) across their platforms, products and systems. According to the "bank-led and UN-convened" NZBA, global banks joined the alliance, pledging to align their lending, investment, and capital markets activities with a net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, NZBA explains. Since April 2021, 145 banks in 44 countries with more than $73 trillion in assets have joined NZBA, tripling...

The very idea of any prosecutor releasing a smear “report” on a defendant he was unable to convict, should be repugnant to any lawyer who believes in the integrity of our criminal justice system.
