Last year at CPAC I asked Donald Trump what he thought about the prospect of Elizabeth Warren for president. He paused just long enough to blast a stare at me so riddled with disgust and nausea you would have thought Mexico had just annexed Mar-a-Lago through eminent domain. The man despises Warren. And so it was stunning that Tuesday morning, as Trump celebrated his victory in the Indiana primary clinching the Republican nomination, Warren greeted him with a vicious Twitter salvo: “@realdonaldtrump has built his campaign on racism, sexism, and xenophobia.”
