Some Giuliani Reaction Via E-Mail [Rich Lowry] A sampling of the email reaction. I wonder if Rudy even realizes what he’s doing to his candidacy? —Hi Rich. Giuliani's comments are the kind of talk that is going to ensure that the Democrats win the White House. He's talking about people ignoring their core beliefs. I have respect for him and think he's a great speaker, but as a Christian conservative (ironically, from Iowa) I can honestly tell you that I will not vote for him. Period. And I don't care if it does allow Hillary the presidency… —As an up...

Rudolph Giuliani’s lead over his Republican presidential rivals has dropped, according to a new poll – which also showed ominous results for second-place GOP candidate John McCain. A late-February Washington Post-ABC News poll gave former New York City Mayor Giuliani 44 percent of the vote among Republicans and Republican-leaning independents. In the new Post-ABC poll, that number has dropped to 33 percent, while Sen. McCain held steady at 21 percent. Giuliani’s drop could be attributed in part to the possible entry of former Sen. Fred Thompson into the race, according to the Post. Thompson ran third in the new poll,...

In light of what he said today, is there any doubt this man is unfit for office?

Rudy Giuliani: Left-of-Kos Republican Markos Moulitsas Zúniga, proprietor of Daily Kos -- supposedly THE voice of the left in the blogosphere -- seems to understand the Constitution better than the Republican front runner: Whatever the merits of the issue, it's clear that there's no sharper electoral poison for the Republican base than abortions funded by taxpayers. "Ultimately, it's a constitutional right, and therefore if it's a constitutional right, ultimately, even if you do it on a state by state basis, you have to make sure people are protected," Giuliani said in an interview with CNN's Dana Bash in Florida's capital...

[SNIP] A look at positions and records of the presidential candidates on gun control: [SNIP] REPUBLICANS: _Kansas Sen. Sam Brownback: Voted against ban on assault-type bans and against requiring background checks at gun shows. Voted to shield gun-makers and dealers from civil suits. _Rudy Giuliani: Now says states should decide appropriate gun controls. As New York mayor and Senate prospect in 2000, favored variety of federal controls, including ban on assault-style weapons and waiting period for purchases. Also favored a federal mandate to register handgun owners and require handgun buyers to "demonstrate good moral character and a reason to have...

Looks like today's Supreme Court ruling upholding the ban on partial birth abortion puts the lie to several RINO/moderate notions. First, abortion is NOT a constitutional right. Second, a pro-life president can and does make a difference. Third, a ban on abortion can pass SCOTUS/Constitutional muster. Fourth, America is ready for a ban on all abortions. Fifth, traditional American conservatism CAN and DOES win. Thank God for the pro-life President Bush and the Republican congress that enacted this ban and for the conservative court that upheld it! The pro-abortion Rudy Giuliani must never ever be allowed to destroy the pro-life...

Mitt Romney -- a successful businessman, savior of the Salt Lake Olympics and former Republican governor of a Northeastern state -- may not be the most obvious Republican choice for commander in chief. John McCain may seem like a more obvious choice when one considers his stalwart defense of the "surge," support for the war in Iraq, and his Vietnam heroism. But if you listen to the way Romney's been talking lately, the "obvious choice" may change. Romney has a chance to capitalize on the fact that this has not been a particularly proud few weeks for the West. Iran...

Giuliani as Cartoon According to Parade magazine, Rudy Giuliani will be making a cameo appearance on The Simpsons next month. Said writer Al Jean: "The Simpsons has never had a sitting or retired U.S. President. We've had them as characters, but never the actual person. However, Rudy Giuliani is doing a cameo in May, so you never know. We may have a President after all."

Giuliani leads Spartanburg fundraising contest By JASON SPENCER, Staff Writer Published April 18, 2007 During the first three months of 2007, Rudy Giuliani raised more money for his presidential campaign in Spartanburg County - $47,600.00 - than all of the other Republican hopefuls combined, according to federal election data released this week. The former New York mayor's success here is noteworthy because many pundits have said Giuliani's views on abortion, gun rights and gay marriage would drive away social conservatives - particularly in the Upstate. "We just find that there are a lot of people who are looking at the...
