A Houston teenager is accused of shooting dead a fellow teen as part of a weapons-drawing prank that has been spreading on social media, authorities said Thursday. Mohamad Nour Alajil, 18, has been charged with manslaughter in connection to the Dec. 11 slaying of Christian Johnson, 19, officials said. Police believe Johnson's death resulted from the "No Lackin'" challenge, which calls for one person to pull a weapon on another on video to record the reaction, KPRC reported. The challenge stems from the notion that no one should ever be caught without, or "lacking," a gun. Johnson had an AR-15...

Coming fresh off the heels of yesterday's SJW freak out at a Trump supporter, here's a Trans-dude who freaks out at a GameStop when everyone keeps calling him 'Sir'. Enjoy! (Apologies if this has already been posted - did a search and nothing came up.)

Dear Generation Z, Lazy. Entitled. Technology obsessed. Do those descriptions sound familiar? Like millennials, you have been called a variety of not so flattering labels. And now, the media has added one more: murderer. All right, maybe you weren’t called murderers, but you have been accused of killing. And no, not the horror movie kind, but rest assured you’ve managed to kill pastimes and have placed entire industries on life support. As someone who either falls into the young millennial or old Gen Z category depending on your definition, I can only share in the excitement (read: eye rolls) as...

Schools are removing analogue clocks from examination halls because teenagers are unable to tell the time, a head teachers’ union has said. Teachers are now installing digital devices after pupils sitting their GCSE and A-level exams complained that they were struggling to read the correct time on an analogue clock. Malcolm Trobe, deputy general secretary at the Association of School and College Leaders (ASCL), said youngsters have become accustomed to using digital devices. “The current generation aren’t as good at reading the traditional clock face as older generations,” he told The Telegraph.

Super young voters, those 22 and under known as Generation Z, are offering Republicans a chance to claim some of the youth vote lost when millennials fell hard for former President Barack Obama. Swing state changes from 2012 to 2016 were more dramatic — and impactful. “In Florida, the Democratic margin of victory for the youth vote from 2012 to 2016 dropped 16 points. In both Ohio and Pennsylvania, the drop was 19 points. In Wisconsin, it was 20 points. These dramatic declines helped give Republican Donald Trump a win in each of these states, pushing him over the top...

Generations Y and Z are rewriting the rules of the luxury market, according to a report released on Wednesday by the consulting firm Bain & Co. The global luxury market, encompassing goods and luxury experiences, is forecast to grow by 5 percent this year to an estimated 1.2 trillion euros, or $1.4 trillion, according to the study, compiled using market data and interviews with people in the industry. But while older shoppers traditionally have driven the growth of sales in the luxury sector, this time it was shoppers born after 1980 who made the difference. Generation Y provided 30 percent...

Max Bloomstine has a positive view of the nation’s growing diversity, believes the American dream is attainable (but doesn’t believe he’s entitled to it) and is more into the “we” instead of the “me.” He is politically independent but leans conservative, attends church on a regular basis, and views his parents — not sports figures or celebrities — as role models. Right now, though, two things weigh heavily on his mind: where to attend college next year (it’s either going to be the University of Pittsburgh or Rochester) and working on a summer job. “I am a good entrepreneur when...

Student demands for censorship get a lot of coverage. Spiked Online’s Free Speech University Rankings, now in its third annual edition, argues that there is a “crisis of free speech on campus”. By analysing the censorious policies and actions that have taken place on British campuses, Spiked concluded that 63.5 per cent of universities actively censor speech and 30.5 per cent stifle speech through excessive regulation. You can barely go a few days without encountering a new op-ed covering censorship on campus. Maajid Nawaz describes the students demanding censorship as members of the “regressive left”. Milo Yiannopoulos calls them “snowflakes”....

Children are the new focus between the haves and the have-nots, Australia is producing the smallest generation of children we have ever seen, relative to total population. While we debate the implications of this for our ecology, our economy and our immigration policy, spare a thought for the children themselves. They will be living in a world of bewildering mixed messages. Their overzealous parents will be lavishing attention on them, praising their every achievement as if they are superheroes, yet protecting them as if they are fragile and incompetent. Meanwhile, there'll be a growing band of non-parents out there who...

Remember when all that generation Xers wanted was the key to the car? Well, now they need booster seats; generation Xers are parents. In the US, 51 per cent of children now have parents who were born between 1965 and 1979. Frightening, no? Well, no. According to some recent studies, generation X - many of whom grew up on Nirvana's Smells Like Teen Spirit - is doing just fine when it comes to raising generation Y. Gen-X parents may even be doing a better job than their parents - the baby boomers - did. "We see big gaps between how...
