Last night, masked men arrived at the industrial area in Hatzor Haglilit, sawed off one of the gates and threw a Molotov cocktail that caused a large fire and complete destruction in three large businesses in the area. The head of the Hatzor Haglilit local council, Shimon Suissa, addressed the prime minister and the Minister of Internal Security, saying: "The State of Israel is losing the Galilee. One at a time, businesses, agricultural plots, industrial complexes are being harmed, with no end in sight. I call on the PM and the minister of internal security to address the wave of...

Sirens sounded Saturday evening in northern Israel as rockets were apparently fired from Lebanon into the Jewish state. The sirens sounded in Nahariya, Rosh Hanikra, Shlomi, Kabri and Hanita, along the border with Lebanon. Initial analysis said that the rockets were apparently fired from Lebanon by a Palestinian Lebanese terror group. "Two rockets fired from Lebanon hit uninhabited areas in the Nahariya region," a coastal town around 12 kilometers (seven miles) from the border with Lebanon, an army spokeswoman told AFP. Israel responded with artillery fire targeting the firing points. A Lebanese security source told AFP at least one rocket...

We were invited to Israel to visit the IWI factory just outside of Tel Aviv. Obviously this was a one of a kind opportunity for both MAC and for the YouTube firearms community. We not only toured the home of the Tavor but also the Negev 5.56 and 7.62x51, the Jericho 941, Uzi, Galil ACE and the X95. After the factory tour we headed to the range and fired all of the weapons mentioned, which really was the highlight of the whole trip. It's one thing to see these amazing firearms, but getting to fire them? Out of this world!...

Despite the relative quiet in northern Israel in recent years, the threat posed by Hizbullah remains, Minister Yaalon said Wednesday evening. Yaalon spoke at a memorial for the 73 soldiers killed in a helicopter crash over Kibbutz Dafna 16 years ago. “The 73 fallen sons embody the complexity of our lives here,” Yaalon said, “and our struggle, which, sadly, is not yet over.” “We are a people that loves peace,” he continued. “That is how we raise our sons and daughters.” Addressing bereaved families at the event, he said, “That is how you raised your children who fell while on...

Israel is replacing its world-famous Uzi sub-machinegun and U.S.-supplied M-16 assault rifle with a new flagship firearm. The design of the Tavor is based largely on lessons learned during military operations in the West Bank and Gaza Strip during the 34-month-old Al Aqsa intifada. The first Tavors, made by Israel Military Industries (IMI), have been issued to elite Israeli infantry units, part of an order of 15,000 announced last month by the Defense Ministry. Security sources said deals were under way to sell the weapon, retailing at $1,000, to "friendly foreign clients.". "The Tavor is probably the finest assault rifle...
