<p>Esquire killed Jayson Blair's first writing assignment since The New York Times scandal because Blair's notoriety is old news, the magazine said yesterday. Blair, 27, was hired by Esquire to write a review of a movie based on "Shattered Glass," a story by another disgraced journalist, Stephen Glass.</p>
