Trump defended America First by keeping Putin's Russia from invading Ukraine. During the Biden administration’s tenure, multiple conflagrations have pushed the world to its most unstable point since the end of the Cold War. -snip- Unfortunately, in response, Washington seems to have produced two equally terrible strategies: One, blindly follow President Joe Biden’s policies that have allowed this chaos to reign, or two, give in to the forces of evil seeking to destroy our republic and retreat within our borders, shutting our eyes to the dangerous world around us. Both are wrong. There is a better solution, one that brought...

During their set at the Punk Rock Bowling & Music Festival in Las Vegas on Sunday, NOFX made jokes about the horrific Route 91 Harvest Festival shooting on October 1 that left 58 people dead, Billboard reports. “I guess you only get shot in Vegas if you’re in a country band,” said guitarist Eric Melvin. “At least they were country fans and not punk rock fans,” frontman Fat Mike responded. Stone Brewing Co.—the San Diego Brewery behind NOFX’s beer and music festival both called Punk in Drublic—has now distanced itself from the band, The Blast reports. “We at Stone Brewing...

The filmmaker behind Bowling for Columbine has responded to calls for comment following the latest U.S. mass shooting. Michael Moore wrote a Facebook post describing America's national symbol as the gun, not the bald eagle. 'With due respect to those who are asking me to comment on last night’s tragic mass shooting ... I no longer have anything to say about what is now part of normal American life,' Moore wrote.

Mike "Fat Mike" Burkett from punk rock band NOFX has been permanently banned from Emo's after pulling a disgusting prank during his SXSW showcase. Burkett, performing as Cokie The Clown, started his set by pulling out a bottle of tequila, pouring several shots, and then taking a few shots himself before sharing the rest with the excited crowd. In the video above, hosted by TMZ, the audience can be seen eagerly grabbing the plastic cups that Burkett passes out. Moments later, Burkett replays a video on a small TV on stage, showing him urinating into the same tequila bottle just...

Some acts cite legit reasons for leaving, but members of NOFX, Thursday talk of tension between bands. For most bands, landing a coveted slot on the Warped Tour is like finding a golden ticket. But this year, bands have been dropping off the annual summer tour's 11th installment like flies. From First to Last bolted just three weeks into the festival so frontman Sonny Moore could undergo surgery to remove a nodule on his vocal cords. Then, Gatsby's American Dream dropped out. "There's no juicy gossip to report, we just need a break to be with our families at this...

Friends, Let the resounding defeat of Senator Joe Lieberman send a cold shiver down the spine of every Democrat who supported the invasion of Iraq and who continues to support, in any way, this senseless, immoral, unwinnable war. Make no mistake about it: We, the majority of Americans, want this war ended -- and we will actively work to defeat each and every one of you who does not support an immediate end to this war. Nearly every Democrat set to run for president in 2008 is responsible for this war. They voted for it or they supported it. That...

Michael Moore has made a career of butting heads with bigwigs. His documentaries, laced with satire on politics and society, have taken aim at General Motors Corp. (Roger & Me), the National Rifle Association (Bowling for Columbine, the 2002 Oscar winner) and U.S. President George W. Bush (Fahrenheit 9/11). Still in the works is Sicko, a none-too-flattering perspective on the U.S. health-care system. And he's overseeing the second annual Traverse City Film Festival in Michigan, which he established last year with author Doug Stanton and photographer John Robert Williams. More than 70 films, many independently produced, will be shown in...

FAT MIKE, musician Fat Mike is not a happy man. "When I see a Bush-Cheney bumper sticker on a car, it's time to slash their tires," he says, calling from the offices of his Fat Wreck Chords label. "When I run into a tourist with a Southern accent, I tell them to get the f -- out of San Francisco. We're at a culture war. I'm angry at them." Leading up to the election, the member of Bay Area punk bands NOFX and Me First and the Gimme Gimmes did more to mobilize progressive and young voters than certain red-state...
