  • Who visits dubyaspeak.com? And is there a Clinton and/or Gore equivalent?

If you ignore the fact that dubyaspeak.com is a Bush-bashing site, I find it funny. I won't dignify it by directly linking it to FR. But I will ask FReepers, is there a similar site collecting malapropisms from Slick and/or Goron? Thanks in advance.foreverfree
  • Any cartoonists here?

I got a flash of total weirdness this morning and did something completely foreign to me - I drew a cartoon. It's entitled "When Penumbra ATTACK!!" and it's about the usurpation of power by the Supreme Court. If there is someone out there who can draw well and sketch out this 4-panel cartoon a bit more professionally, I think it would be a great pro-Constitution piece of commentary/humor to pass around the net. I can scan my primitive drawing to PDF and email it if I can find someone willing to lend a bit of artistic talent to the cause....
  • Did McCartney's Yesterday get a nudge from Nat? (Beatles)

Did McCartney's Yesterday get a nudge from Nat? Times of London Sunday, July 06, 2003 Music experts say Sir Paul McCartney subconsciously borrowed the melody of his classic ballad Yesterday from a Nat King Cole record. The origins of Yesterday, which has been recorded by more than 2,000 artists and played on the radio more than six million times, has always been a mystery -- not least to McCartney himself. He woke up in his flat in London in May 1965 with the song in his head. He realized that he might have borrowed the arrangement from another song and...

Looks like the shrub is going to need to pull a rabbit out of his hat on Iraq by either killing Saddam and producing a dead body or some WMD. The liberal media is killing us on this WMD thing.

I'm hoping someone can help me here. I used (note the past tense) to buy my stamps via the Post Office (www.usps.com) web site. I buy stamps in swoops so don't go to the site all that often. But went last Friday afternoon to buy some stamps. It let me get on, click on a sheet of stamps to move to my shopping card but the minute I pressed ENTER up popped the message that the site "could not be accessed" (or something like that). Then it rerouted me back to the Post Office store- for whatever good that would...

Help! My win2000 pc crashed. It is stuck in a endless loop where it starts up, goesinto the window2000 start page and when it gets to the 'administrator'/password wincow I see that my password has vanished! Then the screen goes black and the pc again tries to start. I went into the safe mode by pressing f8 and tried to reinstal a password but it will not work with the original password. I am stumped! I have the win2000 cd and a 'magic floppy' that was given to me before my nephew moved out of state, and he is not...

A friend of mine brought up an interesting point that I thought might bring about a good discussion: With all of the regulations that have been put in place over the last 100 years or so in order to protect us, are people who would have ordinarily died from stupidity, thus strengthening the gene pool, being able to reproduce when maybe they shouldnt? Thus making society even stupider than it was before? I see morons who get their kids tattooed at 6 months, women with multiple kids by multiple dads who will be on the government dole their whole lives,...

Saddam is no longer in power and yet those on the left have to drone on and on about why the US removed him from power. I think he must be dead or we would not have found his stolen loot. As for the reasons, I have a hunch he was complicent in the 9-11 attack and supported terrorists. Why do we need any more reason?

Isabel Lake has added some Mexican flair to some typical Utah dishes. (Paul Fraughton/The Salt Lake Tribune) Isabel Lake loves carne asada, served with warm tortillas, pico de gallo and refried pinto beans. Then again, she couldn't do without potato salad. She craves the seafood of her native Mazatlan but the mix of whipped cream, cottage cheese and fruit dubbed "Mormon Salad" also does her right. Just like her name, Lake's cooking is a combination of Mexico and Utah. Her kitchen skills have the equal influence of her Sinaloan mother and her mother-in-law, a Mormon from Salt Lake. "We...

The rest grow old, but not Kenny Hubbs. His Cubs teammates--Banks, Santo and Brock among them--have long since seen their hair fall out or turn gray. The man he replaced at second base, Don Zimmer, seems downright ancient. But Kenny Hubbs is frozen in time. In the picture in our minds, he is forever young--a lean, unspoiled 22-year-old, the Rookie of the Year. Maybe it is a picture from a baseball card we remember. Maybe it is a picture that went with the tragic 1964 newspaper headline--the one that brought news of the airplane crash that meant the promising second...

As I was jogging through lovely Baltimore City today in my W'04 campaign t-shirt, I had an interesting experience. Now, I understand that this is a liberal town, but I was surprised when a large, mustached woman leaned out the window of her toyota camry and yelled "F--- you, Bush sucks!" As she drove off, I could see her car had been plastered with bumper stickers, mostly advertising "Peace." I saw a Attack Iraq? NO! sticker, along with a "War is not the Answer" one. There was also a sticker for some organization (FLRC?--couldn't make it out. . .) Since...

While you're chewing on this question, I hereby present how the division races would have come out beginning 1994 had the grand old game stuck to the East/West, division-winners-only format.(This assumes that in 1998, the Brewers would have moved from AL East to NL East, expansion D'Rays enter AL East, and expansion D'Backs enter NL West. This also assumes that interleague play would have commenced in 1997 nevertheless.)1994 (leaders at the strike): Yankees, White Sox, Expos, Braves1995: Indians, Mariners, Cubs, Braves1996: Indians, Rangers, Expos vs. Cards in playoff, Braves1997: Orioles, Mariners, Marlins, Braves1998: Yankees, Rangers, Cubs, Braves1999: Yankees, Rangers, Mets,...
