In one of his latest social media outbursts, President Donald J. Trump pounded the table for legendary right-handed baseball pitcher Roger Clemens to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. Clemens, one of the most dominant pitchers in MLB history, has long had the resume to have a place in Cooperstown. But complications from alleged anabolic steroid and HGH use in the infamous 2007 Mitchell Report have mostly tainted his legacy. Clemens was an 11-time All-Star, seven-time Cy Young winner, and two-time World Series champion across his 23 MLB seasons. And he also won the AL MVP award as a...

Key Facts: Former presidents are very wealthy and continue to earn millions from books, speeches, and media deals, yet still receive over $5 million a year in taxpayer-funded pensions and perks for offices, staff, and supplies. He also is eligible for a generous congressional pension for his time in the Senate. Senator Joni Ernst’s Presidential Allowance Modernization Act would cap pensions, limit expense allowances, and cut perks for wealthy ex-presidents to save taxpayers millions. On the possibility of Ukraine having to give land to a country that forcibly seized it, Vance didn’t appear...

HOW BIG IS ONE? As a man walked a desolate beach one cold, gray morning he began to see another figure, far in the distance. Slowly the two approached each other, and he could make out a local native who kept leaning down, picking something up and throwing it out into the water. Time and again he hurled things into the ocean. As the distance between them continued to narrow, the man could see that the native was picking up starfish that had been washed upon the beach and, one at a time, was throwing them back into the...

“One of the biggest contributors to what we found out– and it could have been any camp, I promise you it could have been any camp– was complacency and human nature, and out of sight, out of mind,” said Republican Texas state Sen. Charles Perry, the committee’s chair. Perry said Senate Bill 1 is the framework to prevent tragedies like Camp Mystic, but the camps will need to follow the provisions in the law. “We did not send Linnie to a war zone; we sent her to camp,” said McGown, who remembered his daughter for her gentle, playful manner. “No...
