Absentee Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez isn’t just MIA in her own district – her mandatory 2024 financial disclosure documents were also missing for months.
Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) was among lawmakers who asked for a 90-day extension when they first came due back in May, but she then missed the second deadline, The Post has learned.
The socialist lawmaker finally filed Wednesday, a week late.
The socialist lawmaker reported she has somewhere between $17,000 and $81,000 in bank accounts and owes $15,000 to $50,000 in student loans. The federal filings list finances in ranges.
Among her assets, the “Squad” member listed $15,000 to $50,000 in a savings account and $1,000 to $15,000 in a checking account.
She reported $1,000 to $15,000 in a 401(k) from the National Hispanic Institute, where she worked as educational director before joining Congress.
In 2023, AOC reported having between $3,000 and $46,000 in the bank in her annual disclosure, meaning she’s added somewhere between $14,000 and $65,000 to her wealth in the past year.
Like fellow rank-and-file members of Congress, she earns an annual salary of $174,000.
The Bronx and Queens rep declared less than $1,000 in a brokerage account.
Notably absent from her disclosure — any sign of her partner of more than 10 years, fiancé Riley Roberts.

I call bullsh*t.
Laws are for the little people.
Still not paying her student loans, after how long?
Rules are for the little people.
The federal filings list finances in ranges.
What a bunch of weasels
I agree. Those are some huge ranges.
She is above the law. What’s the problem? Why the headline?
It would be good for financial disclosures to have more detail.
For example, list out all property owned, balances of bank accounts or brokerage accounts, 401K, etc.
You could have a simple spreadsheet for each member of Cogress. It would not even have to be that complicated a spreadsheet, to track the assets and liabilities of all these people.
I guess we could have an ethical debate as to whether these elected officials owe it to the American people , to disclose detailed financial information.
But I think many of us are quite curious, as to how some members of Congress earning $174K per year, somehow become multimillionaires in Congress.
Doesn't everyone balance a checkbook to that level of accuracy?
bump to the top
Thanks.
If she has not released her financial disclosure, she should be expelled from the House.

My checkbook is balanced-ish.

Bartending school must be expensive.
When it’s other people’s money.
They assume that the end justifies any means that serve it; so they can be just as strict or lax according to whatever serves their objective.
