The cross border vaccine mandate for truckers in/out of Canada is now in effect. The U.S. vaccine mandate takes effect on January 22nd. It will take a few days to see the consequences, but there will be consequences. Keep in mind, any impact is taking place in a supply chain system that is already tenuous and unstable at best. A small disruption that may have been minimally significant against a fully operational supply chain, is more likely to be a much bigger disruption in a supply chain that is already under a severe amount of demand side stress. Somewhere in...

After Andreea’s mom died of COVID-19 in April, the harassment started. Noxious messages started coming in after she wrote a Facebook post letting friends and family know about her loss. One person messaged her to say they couldn’t believe her mother hadn’t protected herself. Andreea has since deleted most of the other messages, but she remembers people saying things like “I can’t believe your mom was an anti-vaxxer” and “I can’t believe she didn’t understand that COVID could kill you.” “Instead of people saying that they were sorry for my loss, they would question my mom’s medical choices. It became...

Filings from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office indicate that Walmart could be planning to create its own cryptocurrency and collection of nonfungible tokens (NFTs). On Dec. 30, Walmart's filings showed it intended to buy new trademarks to make and sell virtual items like electronics, decor, toys, sporting goods and personal-care products. Separately, the company also said it would offer virtual currency and NFTs, according to CNBC. “Walmart is continuously exploring how emerging technologies may shape future shopping experiences. We don’t have anything further to share today, but it’s worth noting we routinely file trademark applications as part of the...

MSNBC host Joy Reid said Monday on her show “The ReidOut” that Republicans were the “same” as the Dixiecrat segregationist political party. Reid also claimed Republicans celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. but oppose “everything Dr. King fought for.” Reid said, “Martin Luther King Jr. Day, a day when people who would have stood four-square against everything Dr. King fought for — equal rights, civil rights, the elimination of poverty, and especially voting rights — soberly repeat that one partial quote they memorized in high school.” Reid then shared video and tweets from Govs. Greg Abbott (R-TX) and Glenn Youngkin (R-VA),...

Cardinal Pietro Parolin, who serves as the Vatican's secretary of state and the pope's No. 2, has “very light” symptoms, while Archbishop Edgar Peña Parra is asymptomatic, officials said. There was no immediate comment on their last contact with Pope Francis. It wasn't clear if Francis has received a booster shot, which has been administered to his predecessor, Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI.

In the latest battle between California and scammers out to defraud its benefits system, the state said it froze 345,000 disability insurance claims that it suspects were fraudulently filed using stolen credentials of doctors and other medical providers. The new scam could further strain California’s troubled Employment Development Department, which struggled to deliver timely benefits to jobless workers during the pandemic and paid out some $20 billion to criminals under false unemployment claims. “My initial reaction was, ‘Good grief, one more thing the department has to deal with,’ ” said Assemblyman Richard Bloom (D-Santa Monica). EDD said it suspended 27,000...

Roughly 30% of all anti-Semitic incidents reported worldwide in 2021 occurred in the US, according to a new report by the Jewish Agency and the World Zionist Organization. The US had the second largest number of anti-Semitic incidents reported last year, after Europe. Broken down by state, New York had the largest number of anti-Semitic incidents in 2021, followed by California, Florida, Massachusetts, and Pennsylvania. Texas, where a gunman held four people hostage at a synagogue last Saturday, ranked number six. The figures tended to correlate with the size of local Jewish populations in absolute terms. New York, California, and...

There’s talk that some people are trying to purposely get the omicron variant. They think they’ll become immune and then can more easily move on with their lives but medical experts KRON4 spoke with say this is a huge mistake. This new trend is like the old days — Before there was a chickenpox vaccine, some parents would purposely get their kids exposed, so they could get it and no longer have to worry about it. Now, some are doing the same thing with omicron, in hopes they can put this pandemic behind them. “There’s no good reason to get...

Nearly 4,000 Kaiser patients may have received slightly less than the recommended dose of their COVID-19 vaccination last fall at Kaiser Permanente’s Walnut Creek Medical Center, the health care provider said Monday. Kaiser is now contacting roughly 3,900 people who received a Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine dose between Oct. 25 and Dec. 10. According to Kaiser’s statement, the patients may have received between .01 and .04 milliliters less than the recommended dose of .30 milliliters. Kaiser and medical experts from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention noted that the difference between the administered dose and the recommended dose is...

Video shows female Trump supporter's desperate pleas to prevent rioters from breaking windows: "Stop! No! Don’t! Wait!" Ashli Babbitt desperately tried to prevent rioters from vandalizing the doors leading to the Speaker’s Lobby at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, even stepping between one troublemaker and police officers guarding the doors, a video analysis shows. Frame-by-frame video evidence analyzed by The Epoch Times paints a vastly different picture of Babbitt’s actions than that portrayed in media accounts over the past year. News media regularly painted Babbitt as “violent,” a “rioter,” or an “insurrectionist” who was angrily trying to breach...

Gov. David Ige said the new rule will not go into effect for at least two weeks.Hawaii will require visitors to the state to have received a COVID-19 vaccine booster if they want to skip quarantine. Currently, under the rules of the state's "Safe Travels" program, travelers who don't want to quarantine for five days must either be fully vaccinated -- meaning two doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna vaccine or one shot of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine -- or have a negative COVID-19 test within one day of travel. However, the program is changing the definition of "fully...

Hollie Marie Clouse would now be 41 years old. The Florida infant was barely a year old in 1980 when her parents, newlyweds Harold Dean Clouse Jr. and Tina Gail Linn, uprooted their small family and headed to Houston for a job opportunity. A few months later, the couple’s families stopped hearing from them. They never saw them again. Now, with the help of genetic genealogists, authorities have identified a murdered couple found in a wooded area of Harris County the following January as Clouse and Linn. There remains one problem, however. “The closure of these cases has led to...
