Gov. David Ige said the new rule will not go into effect for at least two weeks.
Hawaii will require visitors to the state to have received a COVID-19 vaccine booster if they want to skip quarantine.
Currently, under the rules of the state's "Safe Travels" program, travelers who don't want to quarantine for five days must either be fully vaccinated -- meaning two doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna vaccine or one shot of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine -- or have a negative COVID-19 test within one day of travel.
However, the program is changing the definition of "fully vaccinated" to include booster shots, Gov. David Ige announced at a news conference last week.
This means fully vaccinated travelers who haven't received a booster shot will have to quarantine in Hawaii for five days.

I’m not sure how this can be legal.
Always wanted to go visit Hawaii.
Never gonna happen now.
Regretfully, I must remove “visiting Hawaii” from my personal bucket list, as it is clearly obvious that they shall NEVER lift the utter fascination they have with moving the goalposts, making potential visitors jump through ever higher hoops al the time.
Commerce Clause should come into play.
Hawaii needs to look at Mexico.
Mexico dropped all COVID restrictions for tourists and visitors on Jan. 1, 2022.
Ivermectin is readily available over the counter at pharmacies throughout Mexico.
Feds are enforcing this for Hawaii. It’s a Federal crime to break this law as it’s interstate travel via aircraft.
Do people still have to test to come back to the USA after being in Mexico?
Oh Thank God
I have another government-provided airtight alibi.
I've HAD IT with being played!
Oh, darn!
Why are the bureaucrats constantly doubling down on this absolute foolishness?
Perhaps they believe that they will be one of the 144,000.
Glad I went for my 70th birthday (2015). Enjoyed my visit, wouldn’t go now if it was free.
No they just walk over to the border with Texas or Arizona and just walk on in.
OK Not a problem. Plenty of other nice places to visit. It’s their tourism industry to destroy.
We were planning a trip to Hawaii in March but cancelled. We don’t have to put up with any mask crap in North Idaho. the last thing we wanted was to go to Hawaii and have to wear a mask 24x7. Screw that. They aren’t going to see our dollars.
what about NCAA atheletes with natural immunity?

Wife and I already have out “QR” code pass for the return flight from the mainland in a couple months.
Waiting to see if the useless tyrants here decide to rescind that now without another GD Jab.
“Do people still have to test to come back to the USA after being in Mexico”?
Good question. I didn’t see anything on that but would guess that they still do. Unless they’re in the illegal mobs storming our border.
