From Mark's website - Also, Mark gets an excellent call from a neurosurgeon who gives an inside look on what exactly Obamacare will do. For example, instead of patients, some people over a certain age will be considered, "units," as they try to dehumanize patients and the care they receive.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The Senate Ethics Committee on Thursday dismissed a complaint against Sen. David Vitter, a suspected patron of a prostitution ring headed by a woman who killed herself last month. In a letter to the Louisiana Republican, the panel said the conduct at issue allegedly occurred before his Senate candidacy and time in office. In addition, it did not result in his being charged criminally, the committee said. As a result, the panel said it did not have jurisdiction, dismissing "without prejudice" the complaint filed by Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, or CREW, a private watchdog...

WASHINGTON - House leaders are creating a bipartisan task force on whether to establish an independent ethics panel to police the House, Speaker-to-be Nancy Pelosi said Thursday. Pelosi, D-Calif., said Republican leader John Boehner of Ohio has agreed to the idea. The task force has not been set up yet, but it will be expected to report back in March, she said. Pelosi offered no details on what the outside ethics group might look like, saying that would be up to the task force. "There is no question that the ethics process in the last couple of years has lost...

WASHINGTON - The senior Democrat on the House ethics committee said Friday he won't step down from his post, contending there's no truth to allegations by a conservative group that he violated financial disclosure laws. Rep. Alan Mollohan (news, bio, voting record) of West Virginia accused Republicans of orchestrating the complaint by the congressional watchdog group and then using it to call for him to leave the ethics committee. The National Legal and Policy Center said Friday it filed a complaint in February with federal prosecutors, alleging that Mollohan consistently undervalued assets on congressional financial reports and also omitted assets....

WASHINGTON - The Republican chairman of the House ethics committee pledged yesterday to open an investigation of Republican Leader Tom DeLay - if Democrats agree to end a stalemate over rules changes they say circumvent the policing of lawmakers. Democrats immediately rejected the offer, portraying the move as a tactic aimed at easing the pressure on DeLay, who is under fire over questions about his travel, fund raising and relationships with lobbyists. Rep. Doc Hastings of Washington state, chairman of the ethics panel - the only committee in the House split evenly between Republicans and Democrats - called the offer...
