Texas Gov. Greg Abbott is closing entry points at the Mexican border so the state won’t be overrun as reports show thousands of illegal immigrants amassing under a bridge waiting to be arrested by Border Patrol agents. The number of migrants waiting under the International Bridge in Del Rio, Texas, doubled overnight to more than 8,200 people, Fox News reported, showing drone footage of the massive gathering. ”The sheer negligence of the Biden Administration to do their job and secure the border is appalling. I have directed the Department of Public Safety and the Texas National Guard to surge personnel...

Pay for first year corporate attorneys has skyrocketed, with some firms now paying young graduates more than $200,000 starting salaries. New York-based corporate law firm Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP, which has 975 attorneys, upped pay on Friday for 2021 law school graduates to $202,500, the Wall Street Journal reported. Another New York law firm, 765-attorney Milbank LLP, reportedly raised first-year pay to $200,000 last week. Other firms that jacked-up pay in the past week include Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft LLP; Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo PC; and Proskauer Rose LLP, according to the Journal, which also reported...

A federal appeals court in California on Thursday ruled to lift a ban on President Donald Trump’s proclamation that blocks immigrants from entering the United States if they lack health insurance or the means to pay for hospital bills. In a Dec. 31 opinion (pdf), the Ninth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco said that Trump acted within his authority when, in October 2019, he signed the Proclamation on the Suspension of Entry of Immigrants Who Will Financially Burden the United States Healthcare System. The ruling reverses a federal court decision to block the implementation of the president’s...

On January 31, 2020, I issued Proclamation 9984 (Suspension of Entry as Immigrants and Nonimmigrants of Persons Who Pose a Risk of Transmitting 2019 Novel Coronavirus and Other Appropriate Measures To Address This Risk). I found that the potential for widespread transmission of a novel (new) coronavirus (which has since been renamed “SARS-CoV-2” and causes the disease COVID-19) (“SARS-CoV-2” or “the virus”) by infected individuals seeking to enter the United States threatens the security of our transportation system and infrastructure and the national security. Because the outbreak of the virus was (and is) centered in the People’s Republic of China,...

The Turkish army has banned entry to the Afrin center after they invaded. Civilians trying to return to their homes are being arrested. With the invaders entering, looting and pillaging has taken hold in Afrin, while the same forces have banned entry to the city. Turkish soldiers and their collaborator gangs hold the entrances and exits of the city and are barring civilians from entering. Reports say young people who coulndn’t leave Afrin or who wish to come back are forced to choose between two inhumane options, prison and joining the FSA. Many young men are being held on these...

Billionaire Clinton Foundation Donor, Feds Settle Lawsuit Over Reports of Terrorism TiesA billionaire Clinton Foundation donor has struck a deal with the U.S. government to settle a lawsuit over leaks that indicated he was fundraising for a U.S.-designated terrorist organization. Gilbert Chagoury, a Nigerian-born businessman who lives in Lebanon, filed a lawsuit last September against the FBI, CIA, Department of Justice, and several other agencies over leaks that "improperly impugned" his reputation and denied his constitutional rights, Politico reported Monday. News reports surfaced last year that Chagoury, who contributed millions to the Clinton Foundation and pledged $1 billion to...

On December 1 of this year, the Canadian government will lift the visa requirement for Mexican visitors. Immigration experts are concerned that “Canada will now become even more of a launching point for illegal entry into the United States.” Immigration watchers are concerned that illegal aliens will use the opportunity to come across the “largely unguarded” Canadian-United States border. The Director of Policy Studies at the Center for Immigration Studies (CIS), Jessica Vaughan, told Breitbart Texas, “This could be enticing because some parts of our southern border have been hardened and are now very difficult to cross without being detected.”...

President Barack Obama’s 2012 amnesty for “Dreamers”–illegal aliens who entered the United States as children–likely created the conditions under which one of the San Bernardino terrorists could enter the country. Obama announced his unilateral policy, Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), the “Dream Act by fiat,” in June 2012 after immigration reform activists warned that he could risk losing support from Latino voters in his re-election campaign. Obama infamously broke his promise to pass amnesty in his first term, and risked being outflanked by Republican proposals authored by Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) 79% to help “Dreamers” stay in the country....

Soldiers, Border Police, and other security forces work around the clock to fight illegal Palestinian Authority entry to Israel. At the same time, however, PA Arabs are able to travel to the heart of central Israel without the need to go through any security checks, simply by boarding a bus. Malkiel Feder of Har Bracha in Samaria was traveling to the city of Ramat Gan on a bus run by the Afikim company when he noticed that PA Arabs were getting on and off freely. At first he assumed they were Israeli Arabs from Kfar Kassem, but as the bus...

Outside the Beltway No Right to Resist Unlawful Police Entry: Indiana Supremes James Joyner May 14, 2011 For as long as the notion of individual rights has existed, one of them has been the notion that one’s home is sacrosanct. As of Thursday, that’s no longer true in Indiana. AP (“Court: No right to resist unlawful police entry“): People have no right to resist if police officers illegally enter their home, the Indiana Supreme Court ruled in a decision that overturns centuries of common law. The court issued its 3-2 ruling on Thursday, contending that allowing residents to resist officers...

WASHINGTON – Aaron Klein, WND's Jerusalem bureau chief, was prevented today from entering Syria, where he planned to interview officials from Syria, Lebanon and the U.S., as well as co-host ABC Radio's nationally syndicated "The John Batchelor Show," because, according to at least one official in the Syrian embassy, he's Jewish. TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - A top federal official claimed Thursday that the Border Patrol during a recent crackdown has reduced illegal immigration along the well-traveled route from Mexico into Arizona. "We are making progress ... in decreasing numbers and the flow of aliens across Arizona," said Robert Bonner, commissioner for U.S. Customs and Border Protection. In a telephone interview from Washington, he noted that total apprehensions of illegal immigrants crossing into Arizona dropped about 13 percent over the past six months compared to the same period a year earlier. "Same song, different day," countered the Rev. Robin Hoover, founder of...

At approximately 9:45 p.m., agents observed a pickup truck illegally enter the United States about eight miles west of the Naco Port of Entry, according to a press release from the agency's Tucson Sector. The truck's driver was unaware he had been spotted and drove slowly along local ranch roads until the truck reached Highway 92. When an agent attempted to stop the vehicle on the highway near Miller Canyon Road, the driver performed an...

I haven't posted Kilauea volcano pictures for a little while, but the eruption just keeps on going and going. It had been sending lava onto the coastal flats, so there hadn't been any recent ocean entries, but a fairly large flow called the 'Banana' flow reached the ocean yesterday. I've posted two nice pictures, but for fans of molten lava, there are a lot of new ones on the linked site above.
