Given the recent decimation in U.S. listed China based stocks, it is becoming abundantly clear who is running the show in China. And no one person is coming to that realization quicker than Jack Ma. Once revered as a beacon of success and entrepreneurship out of China, Ma's outspoken nature and boisterous antics saw him fall out of favor with the Chinese Communist Party - quickly.Such was the topic of a new, comprehensive Wall Street Journal report, which detailed the lesson Ma is now learning first hand: there is only one most powerful man in China. How did Ma - who...

He was so broke just 13 years ago that he had to borrow £2.50 from his mum for deodorant but now Darren Briggs is sitting prettyDarren Briggs can remember the day that, aged 38, he had to borrow £2.50 from his mum to buy deodorant before he could go and sign on to the dole. These days he’s in charge of a company turning over £200m and takes helicopter piloting lessons every Friday. He is flying high, literally, as director of one of the fastest-growing companies in Wales which is set to make £12m this year. But, just 13 years...
  • Huy Fong's Sriracha hit revenue of $150m+ a year...with no sales team, no trademark and $0 in ad spend. Its creator is Vietnamese-American David Tran, making the sauce's success a tale of immigrant hustle and a product that literally sells itself.

The Sriracha story traces back to the 1930s. In a Thai town called Sri Racha, a housewife named Thanom Chakkapak created a paste of chili peppers, distilled vinegar, garlic, sugar and salt. Variations of this recipe have travelled across the globes in the decades since. 2/ One variation was created by David Tran, a major in the South Vietnamese army. In 1978, the Tran family joined 3k+ refugees and fled Communist Vietnam on a Taiwanese boat called the Huey Fong (means "Gathering Prosperity”). The boat inspired the business name Huy Fong Foods. Image 3/ Tran landed in the US and...
  • Racism in Band White (print title)

Isn’t it amazing that the Republican Party and conservatives have been branded with the racist label but in reality, it really is the Democratic Party and radical liberals who are the true racist? Publicly, liberals constantly profess their “love” and “affection” for the Black community yet have the most racist track record around. One need look no further than Washington, D.C., known within the Black community as “Chocolate City” because of its former status as a majority Black city; governed by a majority Black city council and having a history of all Black mayors. White D.C. city council member Mary...

In the days before President Lyndon Baines Johnson, black Republicans were a thing. And chief among them was Samuel B. Fuller. Fuller was a black American entrepreneur in the mid-Century United States. More than just an entrepreneur, he also gave back to the black community by providing both inspirational speeches as well as nuts-and-bolts training at a time when entrepreneurially minded black Americans had precious few options for either. Some entrepreneurs trained or inspired by Fuller include John H. Johnson of Johnson Publishing and George Ellis Johnson of Johnson Products. To say that Fuller came from “humble beginnings” is a...

When Mikaila Ulmer was four years old, she received an old cookbook from her grandmother. It was tattered and the covering was falling off, but the recipes were still intact. Thumbing through the pages, she stumbled on a mixture for flaxseed lemonade. “We tried making it, and it tasted really good,” Mikaila recalled in an interview years later. The Austin, Texas, native decided to sell the concoction at a lemonade stand. After a while—and an additional touch of her own, an infusion of honey, inspired by a newfound fascination with bees (more on that later)—Mikaila was encouraged by a local...
  • Hi tech entrepreneur’ Andrew Yang not rich enough to buy a modest home in Silicon Valley

    American Thinker ^ | 09/20/2019 | Thomas Lifson
Andrew Yang is widely identified as a “hi tech entrepreneur,” leading many people (including me) to assume that he is worth many millions of dollars, and independently wealthy. That made sense considering his plan to give a thousand bucks a month (borrowed, of course) to everyone (and it’s not clear to me if legal or illegal aliens qualify). But according to information in this column by James Freeman in the Wall Street Journal, he isn’t more than middle class, at least by the standards of Silicon Valley.  Julie Bykowicz reported in the Journal in May: Democratic presidential candidate Andrew Yang, a self-described...

Mike Lindell, the founder of MyPillow, opened up about how he overcame his lifelong battle with addiction on the latest episode of Life, Liberty & Levin on Fox News Sunday night. Lindell was a crack addict who started drinking and got into hard drugs when he was just a teenager. He recalled showing up for his five-year high school reunion drunk and envying his old friends for doing things like going to college and starting families. All in all, Lindell says, he suffered through about “40 years of addiction” between alcohol, powder cocaine and crack. All that started to change...

As an inventor and entrepreneur, my focus was never on politics. All that changed when then-presidential candidate Donald Trump reached out to me for a private meeting. I knew this was going to be a divine appointment. I wasn’t sure what to expect when I walked into his office on August 15, 2016. We talked about products made in the USA, his desire to bring jobs back, how to help the inner cities, the economy, and so much more. I saw first-hand his true passion to help our country. I walked out of that office convinced he would be the...

Bike thieves be wary. A pair of San Francisco entrepreneurs are developing a way to stop you—and you'll probably think it really stinks. Daniel Idzkowski and Yves Perrenoud created a steel U-lock called the SkunkLock that emits a noxious, vomit-inducing odor into the face of the person attempting to cut it. The acids in the pressurized formula are food-grade, sharing the same properties as those found in fowl-smelling Swedish fermented herring. Inhalation won't cause permanent harm but it does lead 99 percent of people to throw up uncontrollably. As your angle grinder just starts to break through the lock's steel,...

Entrepreneurs who obtain the two-year visas will be able to develop new technological enterprises in Israel and their visas will be extended if they decide to establish start-up companies in Israel. If you’re planning on creating the next Waze, the next Trusteer, or the next XtremIO, the government doesn’t care if you’re Jewish, Israeli or have even visited the Holy Land. It wants you to set up shop right here. The Economy Ministry on Thursday announced plans to issue “innovation visas” for foreign entrepreneurs to come work in Israel. Entrepreneurs who obtain the two-year visas “will be able to develop...

A father of eight has sparked controversy by refusing to save money for his children’s college education. Guerilla Parenting author David T. Fagan told the Washington Post that college is 'a lot of wasted time' and if his children want to attend, they will have to pay for it themselves. The 37-year-old marketing entrepreneur, whose family lives in Orange County, California, added to MailOnline: 'The focus is too much on a piece of paper and not enough on self-reliance.'

BrickStix LLC, a Hartland company formed around an idea young Greyson MacLean had for making removable stickers for Lego bricks, has reached an agreement with Toys "R" Us that will have the retailer carrying the stickers in in all of its stores. The company's stickers will be in nearly 600 Toys "R" Us stores, said Matt MacLean, Greyson's father and BrickStix's lawyer. BrickStix began shipping its patent-pending stickers to the retailer on Thursday, and the product will be available in stores later this month, he said. They are already sold in smaller toy stores across the country, at Harrods department...

Nicholas Pinto may be one year away from high school, but he’s already doing big business. The 13-year-old says he’s always loved scooters, but was frustrated by how quickly the wheels would break. “As you develop your skills, like landing on the scooter harder when you’re going off of a ramp, what you want is for the parts not to break,” says Pinto, who lives with his parents and three siblings in Cranford, New Jersey. He says he was spending a lot of money replacing the wheels every few weeks. “I was saying, ‘Wow, this can’t be!’ I was trying...
