Multi-billionaire Jack Taylor, who made his fortune after founding Enterprise Rent-A-Car in the 1950s, has died aged 94.
Taylor, who launched the company in St. Louis, Missouri in 1957, passed away on Saturday after a short illness.
This year, Forbes magazine estimated his wealth at $5.3 billion and listed him in the top 250 richest people in the world.
But more than anything else, Taylor simply wanted to be remembered as 'a nice guy.'

I've rented from Enterprise more than a few times and have always been satisfied.Plus I've read that Enterprise is consistently rated the best car rental agency in the country.
And no...I'm not a stockholder.

One of my “retired” buddies works for them transporting cars around. He always says they treat him great and he’s never leaving...I think he’s 76 yrs old now LOL.

Will he leave the light on for me?

I enjoyed the “Enterprise 360” docuseries he sponsored or had produced.

Requiescat in pacem. Enterpise is professional, courteous and always busy. When I told the guy that I really like renting the Chevy Cruz, he said that he loves the car, too. I know: it is sad the Cruz car needed tax dollars to sell.

Several of my student have had summer COOPs or internships (required for graduation) with Enterprise and one or two have gone to work for them full time. They would agree with your friend about the work environment.

Wasn’t this the guy who also served on the USS Enterprise during WW2?
RIP

Yes, he named the company after the ship.

I think it is a privately held company.

Car rentals will become more the norm as people increasingly will not want to own cars. These will be the automatic driving cars everybody is scaring us about. You punch on your app where you want to go and a driverless car pulls up. You get into the back seat and it takes you where you want to go. People today will say "Oh no, you will not get me into a driverless car."
But just wait.

He named the company after the U.S.S Enterprise on which he served in WW2 as a fighter pilot. The ship was known as "The Lucky E.''
