In a compelling development stemming from an FBI raid conducted last year, a portion of the gold bars found in the residence of embattled Sen. Bob Menendez (D-NJ) have been identified as those stolen in a high-profile 2013 robbery. In September, Sen. Bob Menendez, the senior U.S. Senator from New Jersey and the former Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, and his wife, Nadine Menendez, were indicted on bribery and corruption charges. In October, Bob Menendez was charged with acting as a foreign agent in a superseding indictment. Bob Menendez and his wife are under investigation for their involvement...

When Emily Gil learned of the lack of affordable housing in Englewood Cliffs — and the fact she believes Black residents are priced out of her Bergen County hometown — she felt an urgent need to enact change. The 18-year-old, who graduated from Bergen County Technical School in June, organized a small, peaceful Black Lives Matter protest last month, she says. “Englewood Cliffs has dodged affordable housing requirements for 40-plus years,” Gil told NJ Advance Media. “I find that unacceptable.” Four days after the July 25 rally, Gil received a hefty bill for police overtime. “Please promptly forward your payment...

Workers at a New Jersey restaurant jumped for joy when they thought they’d hit the Powerball jackpot, scoring Saturday's $949 million prize. But the celebration at Grissini's Restaurant in Englewood Cliffs came to an abrupt end when employees realized they'd mistakenly compared Wednesday's winning numbers to their Saturday ticket. "It was like getting punched in the stomach," said Charles Poveromo, 55, who's worked as a bartender at the restaurant for 13 years. Poveromo said 42 employees pooled their money together and bought $210 worth of tickets.
