President Joe Biden should do an ad for his energy policies ala Game of Thrones, “Bundle up! Winter is Coming!” Since Biden was installed as President in January 2021, natural gas futures prices are UP 216% and heating oil is up 199%. The average price of home electricity has SOARED under Biden, as has the prices of many things. Fortunately for Biden and Congress, they live in well-heated (and air-conditioned) digs in the DC area and are not exposed to the damage done by Biden’s executive orders on energy.

A federal judge ruled against Michigan's request to remand its lawsuit against the Line 5 pipeline back to a state court, delivering a win for Canadian operator Enbridge Energy. U.S. District Judge Janet Neff on Tuesday ruled the case was properly within federal court jurisdiction, rejecting Michigan's arguments that because its suit was brought on the basis of state laws that it belongs in state court...

The White House has no plans to shut down a disputed Great Lakes pipeline that brings some 500,000 barrels of crude oil from Canada into the U.S. each day, a spokeswoman said Nov. 9.Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer ordered the Line 5 pipeline to be shut down last year. She said the Calgary-based company that operates it, Enbridge, violated an easement granted decades ago to run a section along state-owned land below the straits of Mackinac.Enbridge sued claiming the pipeline is a federal matter. On Oct. 4, Canada backed Enbridge by invoking a 1977 transit pipelines treaty to stall the litigation.White House deputy...

administration has produced a clownish energy policy. It is simultaneously suppressing petroleum production in the U.S. and begging Saudi Arabia and Russia to produce more. This is idiotic, but Jennifer Granholm apparently thinks it’s funny. You might think the administration’s energy policies couldn’t possibly get worse. But now the New York Times reports: “Biden Administration Plans Wind Farms Along Nearly the Entire U.S. Coastline.” The Biden administration announced on Wednesday a plan to develop large-scale wind farms along nearly the entire coastline of the United States, the first long-term strategy from the government to produce electricity from offshore turbines. Speaking...

The White House indicated Wednesday that governments across the globe should not walk back green energy commitments despite growing fossil fuel shortages and price hikes. White House press secretary Jen Psaki was asked during the daily briefing if the White House is concerned that fuel shortages in Europe will impact green energy pledges ahead of the Glasgow Climate Change Summit in December.

Prices of regular gasoline in the United States have risen to a new seven-year high, according to new data from AAA, as elevated crude prices and an uptick in gasoline demand put upward pressure on prices at the pump. As of Nov. 8, the national average price for a gallon of regular gasoline in the United States rose to a seven-year high of $3.422, up slightly from the previous day’s average of $3.421 and a penny more than the week-ago average of $3.402, according to AAA. Last week, gasoline demand rose from 9.32 million barrels per day to 9.5 million...

The Biden administration's energy policies have drawn criticism as gas prices surge heading into the winter months The Biden administration is reportedly weighing the potential market consequences of shutting down an oil pipeline in Michigan, drawing criticism from opponents. Former Michigan Gov. Jennifer Granholm, Biden's energy secretary, predicted Sunday that heating prices will rise this winter regardless of the Biden administration's decision on the pipeline. "Yeah, this is going to happen. It will be more expensive this year than last year," Granholm told CNN. The administration has yet to decide on what to do with Line 5 and officials were...

“I've given up expecting Michael to do the right thing. Or the decent thing. Or even the comprehensible thing.” -Dwight, The Office (2011)It has been hard, during the recent gas shortage in parts of the U.S., to feel too bad for the people it’s afflicted. They have swallowed every piece of climate dogma hook, line, and sinker; they have voted resoundingly for failed Democrat policies over and over and again; they rejected the energy independence of President Trump for a zombie politician hellbent on making Jimmy Carter look like he did a good job. Granted, the recent havoc wreaked because...

... An Enbridge spokesperson confirmed operations Wednesday have not been impacted ... The pipeline helps deliver nearly half of the supply of light crude oil, light synthetic crude oil and natural gas liquids in Ontario and Quebec ... Enbridge, which says the pipeline is safe, is looking to build a $500-million tunnel beneath the straits it says would protect the twin lines. The company took Michigan to U.S. Federal Court, and the parties were ordered to find a resolution through mediation. They are scheduled to meet again May 18. The Democratic governor has issued a letter telling Vern Yu, Enbridge's...

The outage on the Colonial Pipeline could be exacerbated by a Michigan state order forcing Enbridge Inc.’s Line 5 pipeline — supplying oil to Michigan, Ohio, Ontario and Pennsylvania refineries — to shut down on Wednesday, which could further strain U.S. oil supply. Calgary-based Enbridge has vowed to defy the order and continue shipping oil through the line until forced to close by a court. Analysts believe shutting down Line 5 could cause higher fuel and propane prices in affected areas in the U.S. Midwest and Central Canada as well as potentially thousands of layoffs.

TORONTO – Tim Hortons is getting a crash course in brand association as it tries to extinguish a controversy over a decision to pull ads for pipeline giant Enbridge. The company has found itself caught in a tug-of-war of loyalties between environmentalists and oil industry supporters after an online campaign to yank Enbridge commercials from its in-store Tims TV ignited a fury. Richard Bingham, a marketing professor at Humber College in Toronto, says Tim Hortons should have seen this coming. He says for years the coffee and doughnut chain has been extraordinarily protective of its brand, mostly associating itself only...

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Tribal and environmental groups are suing the U.S. State Department for approving a temporary plan by a Canadian pipeline company to increase the flow of crude oil from Alberta into Minnesota. The Sierra Club and other groups filed the federal lawsuit. The suit contends the State Department approved a plan by Enbridge Energy to construct and operate a pipeline that crosses the U.S.-Canada border without first reviewing environmental impacts. Enbridge won Minnesota regulatory approval to complete a $200 million upgrade of its 1,000-mile Alberta Clipper pipeline, boosting its flow by adding pumping stations

The U.S. Senate Energy Committee advanced a bill on Wednesday that would force congressional approval of TransCanada's proposed Keystone XL oil pipeline project, but the measure seems unlikely to be taken up by the full Senate. The bill, the latest effort by lawmakers to breathe life into the long-delayed pipeline from Canada to the U.S. Gulf Coast, will languish without a commitment from Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid to bring it to a vote. The measure, from Democratic Senator Mary Landrieu of Louisiana and Republican Senators John Hoeven of North Dakota and Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, would take a decision...

PRIMM, Nevada – As part of President Obama’s all-of-the-above approach to energy, today Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar “flipped the switch” on the Enbridge Silver State North solar project, the first large-scale solar energy facility on U.S. public lands to deliver power to American consumers. This milestone is in line with the administration’s broad commitment to expanding production of all sources of American made energy, including from renewable sources, such as wind and solar, which has doubled in the President’s first term, as well as domestic production of oil and gas resources, which have increased each year the President...

Enbridge Inc. has received regulatory approval for its Bakken Pipeline project, adding much needed capacity out of the prolific and pipeline-constrained U.S. play. The $180-million pipeline will move crude from the Bakken and Three Forks formations in Montana and North Dakota to Cromer, Man., via a new pump station at Steelman, Sask. “We’re pleased to receive the board’s approval of our Canadian Bakken project and to be able to move forward with this component of our broader expansion plans in the Bakken in both Canada and in North Dakota,” Perry Schuldhaus, Enbridge vice-president of regional pipeline development, said today. “The...
