On this weekend's Fox News Watch, panelist Jim Pinkerton proposed a simple way to clear up much of the murk surrounding JournoList. Let the Washington Post respond to the 20 questions about the matter that MRC head Brent Bozell has posed to the Post's executive editor, Marcus Brauchli, in an open letter. JournoList was created by lefty blogger Ezra Klein in 2007, who continued to run it after becoming a Post staffer in 2009. Responding to Pinkerton's proposal, Newsday columnist Ellis Henican, a liberal member of the News Watch panel, swung and missed at Bozell . . . View video...

Talk about your teachable moments, the Ground Zero mosque controversy has taught us in just what contempt many in the liberal media hold their fellow Americans. As I noted here, last week on MSNBC, Cenk Uygur accused Americans who oppose the mosque of being "ignorant." This weekend on Fox News Watch, Ellis Henican also used the i-word, saying that when it comes to the mosque, pundits shouldn't be as "ignorant" as other Americans. Jim Pinkerton pounced, pointing out the condescension of which Henican had convicted himself. View video here.

Fox News Watch discusses the media's sympathy for the Times Square bomber and debate Ellis Henican on whether his main motive was Islam or the fact that his house was in foreclosure, like so many other Americans who don't try to blow things up. Ellis Henican tried to explain the media's apparent sympathy by saying they are just "trying to get inside the mind of this madman" through "understanding." He added that he believes Shahzad came to "these horrible acts through a cocktail of motivations." Jim Pinkerton sarcastically responded, "Now we know why all the millions of people who had...

The Link by the title is Ann Coulter's visit with the crew of The View. This Link is to the video of the ladies gossiping about Ann and her book for over 6 minutes before they even brought her out. When she was finally invited to the table, she did a credible job of disputing their false claims about her and the book, in spite of their constant interrupting and over talking.Later in the evening, Bill O'Reilly Defended Coulter and her book while sparring with Ellis Henican (who fancies himself a seasoned polemictitian.)Henican started out nice enough, but went downhill into attacking...
  • Henican: Deal With Real Issues 'Instead of Getting Yahoos Revved Up Over Gay Marriage'

by Mark Finkelstein June 19, 2006 - 06:32. To paraphrase Jeff Foxworthy: if you're an American who wants marriage to be reserved exclusively for one man and one woman . . . you might be a yahoo! Don't believe me? Ask liberal Newsday columnist Ellis Henican. He appeared on Fox & Friends First this morning to debate radio talk show host Mike Gallagher on a variety of topics, including the Democrats' recently announced six-point plan to be implemented should they take back the House in the November elections. Gallagher argued that this was something the Dems cooked up on the...
  • Henican Forgets There's a War On - Pinkerton Reminds Him

by Mark Finkelstein December 31, 2005 - 07:56 In their heart of hearts, do the liberal media believe that when it comes to the struggle against terrorism, we are truly at war? To judge by liberal Newsday columnist Ellis Henican's performance on this morning's Fox & Friends Weekend, you would have to conclude not. Thankfully, fellow Newsday columnist Jim Pinkerton was there to remind his colleague of some cold, hard facts. The topic was the Justice Department's investigation into the leaks behind the New York Times' publication of the highly-classified program of NSA surveillance of possible Al-Qaeda-related phone calls. Henican...
  • Bush, colleagues lose trust in Plame game [Ellis 'Hennigan's'... er... Henican]

The war in Iraq grinds depressingly on, with few signs of progress and no end in sight. The president's plea to privatize Social Security is obviously going nowhere. And George W. Bush's chief political guru, the very architect of his successful re-election campaign, is looking increasingly like a felon, a liar or both.
