So long eggnog, shrimp cocktail and pet-shaped sugar cookies. It’s been a less merry holiday scene at the White House this year under COVID-19′s shadow. President Joe Biden and first lady Jill Biden have replaced the packed parties and overflowing buffet tables of the past with food-free open houses, face masks and testing for the unvaccinated. Beyond the impact on Biden’s first Christmas in office, the virus and its variants largely put the kibosh on the entire White House social scene for 2021, starting with an inauguration that positioned flags in place of people on the National Mall. “I think...

Recent news reports have cast doubt on President Donald Trump's staff's ability to execute the high-stakes theater that is the White House Easter Egg Roll. But don't worry: It's all good, bro. The boys from New Jersey have it covered. Bro4, a pop boy-band from Ridgefield Park, will be among the entertainment at Monday's event. The band will play three sets on the South Lawn throughout the festivities, to an audience expected to be more than 20,000 people. Not a bad gig for an unknown act, especially considering that previous Easter Egg Roll performers have included Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, Janelle Monae and Fifth Harmony.

Peter Cottontail will no longer go hop, hop, hopping along anybody’s bunny trail now that the Marxist bat of sustainable ecosystems has been officially installed The lily white and seashell- pink eared Easter bunny must be a—big, bad racist. That’s right, Peter Cottontail, being white as a cloud is racist, doesn’t teach the dangers of global warming to little Easter egg-hunting children, so the White House has already replaced him/her/it (LGBT politically correct) with a big, black live bat for this year’s ‘traditional’ Easter egg roll. Dry your tears, children, Peter Cottontail will no longer go “hop, hop, hopping along”.

Leave it to Michelle Obama to transform the time-honored White House Easter Egg Roll into what is essentially a grueling, daylong bootcamp. If you think an Easter egg hunt and chocolate bunnies are the themes of the 137th White House Easter Egg Roll on Monday, you are way off. Try core-strength training and pledges of nutritional and physical improvement to the first lady. Drop and give Michelle 20. The Whitehouse website states, “the day’s activities will encourage children to lead healthy, active lives in support of the first lady’s ‘Let’s Move’ initiative.” With “sports and fitness zones” promised, it sounds...

Exercise, and not colorful marshmallow Peeps, will be the focus of the 136th Annual White House Easter Egg Roll on April 21, the sixth year in a row that first lady Michelle Obama's fitness-first goal for kids has taken over the once sugar-filled event on the South Lawn.“The day's activities will encourage children to lead healthy, active lives in support of the first lady's Let's Move! initiative,” said the White House of their sixth roll, titled “Hop into Healthy, Swing into Shape.”In the past, administrations have given differing themes for the annual Easter Egg Roll. Former President George W. Bush,...

Asked why he visited WH 118 times,Former IRS Commish Doug Shulman, cited the Easter Egg Roll as one reason. —Mark Knoller (@markknoller) May 22,2013 Well, give him points for creativity at least. When asked to account for his 118 visits to the White House within a two-year period, former IRS commissioner Douglas Shulman dug deep and managed to come up with one explanation: he took his kids to the White House Easter Egg Roll!… “@jpodhoretz: 118 times in 104 weeks Shulman went to White House. why?"Easter egg roll…" he actually said that.” Bold.—Dana Perino (@DanaPerino) May 22,2013 No kidding! April 1, 2013 FLOTUS’s attempt to turn Easter Egg Roll into ‘Let’s Move’ event backfires Molly C. Braswell Oops! First Lady Michelle Obama’s attempt to turn the 135th Annual Easter Egg Roll into another one of her “Let’s Move†events backfired when the kids in attendance announced that they liked spaghetti and meatballs more than peas and broccoli. Her first mistake was choosing (or allowing someone in her office to choose) the children’s book “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs” by Judi Barrett for the reading part of the event. “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs,†for those of you not...

POTUS at basketball court, with kids and Washington Wizards (don't have all names but John Wall included -- will get details for final wrap) POTUS stepped to free throw line and kids were asked to stand on opposite sides, depending on whether they think he would sink it. Most kids moved in one direction, but one boy went to the "miss" side."Oh, man," a stunned POTUS said, hands on hips. The boy didn't budge. And three others joined. In sharp form, POTUS released the ball. It bounced off the rim and circled it -- miss."Come on. Come on. Did you see...

The next casualty of sequestration could be the Easter Bunny – at least according to a White House e-mail that recently landed in Capitol Hill inboxes. The White House warned Congress that budget uncertainties could nix the annual Easter Egg Roll for kids, which is planned for April 1. “[B]y using these tickets, guests are acknowledging that this event is subject to cancellation due to funding uncertainty surrounding the Executive Office of the President and other federal agencies,” the White House cautioned, according to two Capitol Hill sources who provided the language. “If cancelled, the event will not be rescheduled.”...

The theme for the Easter Egg Roll at the White House may have been 'Let’s Go, Let’s Play, Let’s Move!', following the First Lady's campaign against obesity - but the menu on offer would have satisfied any couch potato. The Obamas welcomed thousands of children and their parents on to the South Lawn this morning to feast on a brunch menu that included waffles, French toast and slurpees. Later in the day, visitors were offered choices of cheeseburgers, chicken tenders, hot dog and curly fries, egg salad or peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.

Obama misses 7 baskets before he makes one By JENNIFER EPSTEIN | 4/9/12 12:00 PM EDT President Obama was determined to sink a basket Monday morning as he took shots on the basketball court at the White House Easter Egg Roll. He was 0-for-3 early on as he took shots with some pros and Harlem Globetrotters players gathered on the White House basketball court with a few dozen kids. Each shot that the pros -- or the kids -- made triggered a few pushups for everyone playing, including the president, who willingly got down on the ground in his blue...
