CAIRO, Egypt Aug. 3 — Egyptian customs agents seized 7,000 dried lizards from a Syrian passenger Saturday, airport officials said. Ahmed Mahmoud Salem, who was about to board a plane to the Jordanian capital, Amman, said he was going to mix the lizards with honey to make an aphrodisiac.He was allowed to leave. NEW ORLEANS -- Water levels dropped precipitously Monday in the worst of the flooded neighborhoods in and around New Orleans. Areas that had been under 6 to 8 feet of water less than two days earlier were dry at dawn, with ooze now smearing the streets and water collecting at low, marshy spots.
