After the Antifa group "Smash Racism DC" showed up outside the home of Fox News' Tucker Carlson on Wednesday night, one of the participants decided to give us their side of the story. Here's Alan Pyke's first-hand account of took place, which was originally written for ThinkProgress (emphasis mine): oped at link What this guy is saying is that the protestors who showed up outside of Carlson's home were "peaceful." If that was the case then they wouldn't show up at night, when Carlson was set to do his show and some wouldn't deface private property. If they were trying...

LANSING — UAW members in neon green vests patrolled crowds inside and outside the state Capitol here, but it didn't stop violence and vandalism. "No, we don't want anyone fighting," a union member in a green vest shouted to a group of angry protestors approaching a small group of right-to-work supporters gathered on the steps of the Capitol. "Everyone stay cool." His plea went unanswered as about eight men wearing hats and coats with the logos of the UAW, Sheet Metal workers, Steelworkers, and other unions, pushed onto a platform on the stairs and shoved people back about three feet....

Continuing to face down questions as to why the U.S. Justice Department went easy on prosecuting members of the New Black Panther Party who stood armed with nightsticks outside a Philadelphia polling location during the 2008 presidential election, Attorney General Eric Holder expressed his personal frustration over the criticism that race played a role. During a hearing of a House Appropriations subcommittee Tuesday, Rep. John Culberson, R-Texas, accused Holder’s DOJ of failing to cooperate with a Civil Rights Commission investigation into the decision to dismiss the case. Holder seemed to take personal offense when Culberson read comments from former Democratic...

US Representative Michael E. Capuano, who decried violent political rhetoric after last month’s fatal shooting rampage in Tucson, said today he regrets urging union workers at a rally in Boston on Tuesday to “get a little bloody.” “I strongly believe in standing up for worker rights and my passion for preserving those rights may have gotten the best of me yesterday in an unscripted speech,” the Somerville Democrat said in a statement released this afternoon. “I wish I had used different language to express my passion and I regret my choice of words." Capuano was referring to remarks he made...

As Dana Roberts drove her friend to her car, they went past people waiting to see Senator John Kerry. The problem, Roberts is president of the college republicans. Her car is covered with Bush campaign stickers. The Kerry supporters then started vandalizing her car, while they drove past. At one point they were mooned and beer was thrown into their car.
