The NFL believes it has a problem with having too few minority coaches among its ranks. So, they’ve decided to solve this problem by ordering each team to hire a “diverse person” to their offensive coaching staff. The league informed teams of the new requirement in a memo sent Monday afternoon. “All NFL teams will be required to have a “diverse person (female or a member of an ethnic or racial minority)” on staff as an offensive assistant in 2022,” Dallas Morning News reporter Michael Gehlken wrote. “This position will be funded, in part, by a stipend from league office....

Sean McDermott took issue with how long two Patriots staffers were on the field during pregame warmups prior to Buffalo's home game against New England. The Bills' head coach, noticing two New England assistants still on the sideline after the majority of the Patriots had already gone into the locker room, personally escorted the lingering staffers off the field. One of the assistants McDermott spoke to was Brian Belichick, the son of Patriots head coach Bill Belichick.

When the Los Angeles Rams secured their spot in Super Bowl 53, they ensured at least their cheerleaders would make history. As members of the Rams’ spirit squad, Quinton Peron and Napoleon Jinnies, will be the first men to perform with an NFL cheerleading team during a Super Bowl. When the Rams’ spot in Atlanta was official, the two went on Twitter to share the upcoming historic moment.

With only five more weeks of regular season play, the NFL is still the object of scorn on social media as fans wonder why stadiums from coast to coast have loads of empty seats. (snip)
  • Win one for Coach Hillary’ and the Clinton Browns

Forget about Condoleezza Rice. If the Cleveland Browns really were interested in naming a woman coach, they’d hire Hillary Clinton. Who better than Clinton to turn things around for a football team that has seen better days? She knows about losing. Which means, given the losing record of the once renowned football franchise, she would fit right in. Knowing Hillary, she would contest every loss in the Browns’ current seven game losing season and, like the Browns ownership, vow to win again, as she is planning to do when she runs for president for the third time.

Week one of the regular NFL season kicked off this weekend with a wimper - the ratings were at a 10-year low. ... Americans are fed up with athletes kneeling during the National Anthem and it showed - plenty of empty seats plagued stadiums on Sunday. [Snip] On Sunday, Miami Dolphins wide receivers Kenny Stills and Albert Wilson kicked off their first game one of the NFL season by taking a knee during the National Anthem and Colin Kaepernick celebrated. The constant protests on the field are destroying the NFL. The President slammed the NFL on Sunday for their abysmal...
  • You can’t deny it, these Seahawks got exactly what they deserved — no spot in playoffs

How can the same problems repeatedly doom one team? How can mental mistakes so consistently outshine physical talent? This season didn’t get away from the Seahawks — the Seahawks pushed it away. This wasn’t about injuries. The Seahawks might have lost some premier players, but that’s not why their season ended before the New Year. It wasn’t about bad breaks, either. As far as favorable bounces go, the football gods weren’t particularly unjust to Seattle this season. No, the Seahawks missing their first postseason since 2011 is primarily due to this: underachievement. They aren’t going to the playoffs because, quite...

Nearly 3 million Dish Network subscribers in 18 cities, including Los Angeles, have lost access to their local CBS television station — just two days before Thanksgiving, when many Americans want to watch NFL football. The blackout comes amid a contentious fee dispute between satellite TV provider Dish Network and CBS Corp., which owns the television stations. Customers in New York, Chicago, Dallas, Philadelphia, Miami, San Francisco, Denver and other markets also were hit by the blackout, which in addition to the local stations includes three CBS cable channels: CBS Sports Network, Smithsonian Channel and Pop. Dish has nearly 400,000...

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Marquise Goodwin was extremely emotional on the sideline after a long touchdown catch Sunday. After the game, it became clear just why. Goodwin said on his Instagram page that his wife, Morgan Goodwin-Snow, lost their baby boy due to complications during pregnancy early Sunday morning. "Although we are hurt, I am grateful for the experience and grateful that God blessed me with a wife as courageous and resilient as Morgan," Marquise Goodwin said on Instagram. "The pain (physically, mentally, & emotionally) that she has endured is unbelievable. Please Pray for the Goodwin family." Quarterback C.J....

Any camera angle that panned across the upper deck in any number of stadiums Sundays confirmed that fact. The...
  • Seahawks DE Michael Bennett: Jerry Jones Threat to Sit Kneelers ‘Reminded Me of the Dred Scott Case’

Seattle Seahawks defensive end Michael Bennett compared Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones’s decision to sit players who do not stand for the national anthem to the Dred Scott Supreme Court decision. “It reminded me of the Dred Scott case: You’re property, so you don’t have the ability to be a person first,” Bennett told reporters Wednesday. “I think that in this generation, I think that sends the wrong message to young kids and young people all across the world that your employer doesn’t see you as a human being, they see you as a piece of property, and if that’s...
