JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) – Authorities have arrested an 18-year-old Jefferson City man after he allegedly made 55 false emergency calls to 9-1-1. Court documents say Justin M- Hohman called the Jefferson City police dispatch center between March and July. The calls ranged from reports of accidents with inujuries or downed power lines to him just yelling at the dispatcher. In most cases, dispatchers would send out emergency crews who would then discover the calls were false. Berkeley motorists and pedestrians -- and even a dog -- have been stung by paintballs at 10 different locations in recent weeks, likely by someone who is firing the projectiles from a car, police say. A 21-year-old man in Orlando, Fla., is accused of punching a mounted police horse in the face, according to Local 6 News. Police said Korey Carter, of 3773 Atrium Drive, was arrested over the weekend and charged with battery on a law enforcement officer. The report said Carter was observed punching the police horse in the face with Deputy Chief Eugenio Bernal sitting on top of it. Carter was booked into the Orange County Jail and released on bail.
