I pulled into a Walmart gas station in Locust Grove, Virginia, this weekend and lo and behold, there was a sign on all of the pumps informing patrons that they were out of diesel fuel. While my vehicle doesn’t take diesel, it struck me as strange. The signs clearly had been up for at least a day.

Should China occupy Taiwan, it would control a majority of the world's microchip manufacturing production. But China needn't invade Taiwan to bring America to its knees — simply reducing urea and other existing Chinese exports is already wreaking havoc. Agricultural fertilizer prices have nearly doubled in the past year, and shrinking supplies of Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) now threaten America's transportation system. The impact of urea supply shortages on food inflation will be compounded by distribution failures if additional DEF resources are not procured immediately. DEF is an emissions control liquid required by the EPA in diesel engines manufactured after...

Do you know what DEF fluid is? It's Diesel Exhaust Fluid. Every Diesel truck that has been made since 2010 is required to use it. It's a product made of 67% Urea fertilizer and 33% distilled water. Every diesel truck you see driving down the road today has to have this product to drive. The engines won't start without it. There are regulators inside the engine that mix DEF with the Diesel to reduce Diesel emissions. That's the purpose of DEF. Right now, Russia is the largest exporter of Urea by a wide margin. Qatar is second. Egypt and China...

Australia is on the brink of a major crisis that could see tens of thousands of vehicles pulled off the road, grocery supplies dwindle and prices skyrocket, with every citizen set to be impacted. On Friday, news.com.au reported on the urea shortage facing the nation, with experts warning the fiasco would devastate the transport industry within weeks. But the full extent of the nightmare is becoming clearer, with the shortage set to also affect agriculture, power generation, the trades, healthcare and everyday consumers.

July 23, 2004, 10:42 a.m. Def to Reason HBO looks deep into an abyss. By Mark Goldblatt If you dive head first into the cesspool of black urban culture, through the flotsam and jetsam of bling-bling jewelry, designer sneakers, and "Free Mumia" T-shirts — through the Ebonic endearments of "ni**a" and "ho" and "dawg" — and if you struggle down past the snarling, muttering studio-menace of gangsta rappers and the haunch-spreading, butt-bouncing images of "empowered" womanhood — and then if you plunge deeper, past conspiracy theories about the LAPD and O.J., about CIA agents and crack, and about Jewish scientists...

Vilnai: Reports suggest Def moderately injured, not killed Cabinet minister Matan Vilnai said Friday that, according to intelligence information he had received, the IDF's attempted assassination Thursday of Hamas military leader Mohammed Def failed to kill the man considered Israel's most-wanted terrorist, and only injured him. Def's deputy and bodyguard were killed in the Apache missile attack on Thursday afternoon on his car in Gaza City. Earlier Thursday, military sources had said that they were "99 percent certain" that Def had been killed along with his bodyguard and deputy, but later could not rule out the Palestinians version. Vilnai...
