Former University of Houston professor Alexander Brown , who is accused of stealing funds from the UH athletic department, was taken from the Harris County criminal courts building on a stretcher Friday after falling ill during his theft trial. Brown, 58, was taken to a local hospital, and state District Judge Mary Lou Keel adjourned his trial until Tuesday. Keel was visibly displeased by word of Brown's illness and suggested defense attorney Jolanda Jones was using Brown's health as a delaying tactic.
