An unidentified man was shot to death before his body was set on fire in west Houston early today, police said. A Houston police officer on patrol noticed a fire at 3:53 a.m. on the side of the road in the 5900 block of Katy Road near Maxroy. The officer then found the charred remains of a man who had been shot numerous times. The killer apparently set the man on fire.
