New Berlin —In the wake of the Oct. 22 attack on a Bichon poodle in which a coyote carried the dog off but later dropped it, New Berlin police say they have information about what to do in coyote encounters. In the Oct. 22 incident, the dog was near a patio when it was snatched up and the dog owner was actually on the patio. CHINO HILLS, Calif. — A nanny pulled a 2-year-old girl from the jaws of a coyote when the animal attacked the toddler and tried to carry her away in its mouth, officials said. The girl was playing Friday in a sandbox at Alterra Park in Chino Hills in San Bernardino County. A Northboro grandfather out for a hike yesterday tackled an attacking coyote to save his grandson's life. The 76-year-old man was first attacked from behind by the wild animal and then put it in a choke hold when it lunged for his neck.
