ALBANY, N.Y. On April 1st 2014, Donald Trump spoke at a large rally on Empire State Plaza. Thousands of gun rights activists attended. Trump hasn't just taken up this issue as some have stated. At this rally he spoke out against Cuomos new gun control efforts. This is a Yahoo / Associated Press article, so I am not going to post the article. I think folks will find it revealing. Were it not for the "go soft" on crime and gun violence attitude that Liberals hold so dearly to their hearts, Hadiya Pendleton would likely still be alive today... Michael Ward, in 2012, pleaded guilty to Aggravated Unlawful Use Of A Weapon, a felony punishable by 1 to 3 years imprisonment in the state of Illinois. Had Ward received a 1 to 3 year prison sentence, he would have been unable to murder Hadiya Pendleton in January of 2013 because he would have been incarcerated at the time. But sadly, he never served time for his gun conviction, and, he...

President Barack Obama used communist China, which has very strict gun ownership laws, as an illustration for the benefits of enhanced gun control on a populace. Speaking at the White House on Tuesday, Obama acknowledged, “We know we can’t stop every act of violence, every act of evil in the world. But maybe we can try to stop one act of evil, one act of violence.†“Some of you may recall at the same time that Sandy Hook happened, a disturbed person in China took a knife and tried to kill, with a knife a bunch of children in China....

Barack Obama insists his planned executive actions on gun control will be “entirely consistent†with the Constitution – even as organizations defending the Second Amendment have warned him not to act on his own. After meeting with Attorney General Loretta Lynch and law enforcement members of his administration, Obama explained he wanted a “very clear understanding†of what he was trying to do with more gun control. “I’m also confident that the recommendations that are being made by my team here are ones that are entirely consistent with the Second Amendment and people’s lawful right to bear arms,†he said....

The Minnesota Court of Appeals held up a statute that defines BB guns as firearms when it comes to prohibited persons. The decision comes as bad news for defendant David Lee Haywood, 37, who was found guilty of possessing a firearm and now faces a five-year sentence. Police searched Haywoods car after discovering that he was in violation of a no-contact order with a passenger during a 2013 traffic stop. A compact air pistol was found in his glove compartment. Haywood was previously convicted of felony drug possession and was therefore not allowed to own any firearms or airguns in...

**SNIP** "A few months ago, I directed my team at the White House to look into any new actions I can take to help reduce gun violence," Obama said in the address. "And on Monday, I'll meet with our attorney general, Loretta Lynch, to discuss our options." The Washington Post, citing several individuals briefed on the matter, said Obama and Lynch would finalize executive actions, which do not require congressional approval, that he will unveil next week. Frustrated by Congress, Obama has vowed to use "whatever power this office holds" to put in place gun control measures.

Of all the sureties on this earthly plane, there is no more fundamentally, solidly certain than this: liberals have no use for God, unless they have a use for God. So it is of no surprise whatsoever that the Washington Post has this week an editorial that relies heavily and distinctly on scripture and Biblical law rather than judicial philosophy or constitutional law. Because in this case, the author is writing in favor of gun control. Rev. Rob Schenck writes against private ownership of arms in an argument that his headline summarizes as "you can't be pro-life and pro-gun," a...

Ted Cruz has assembled an impressive presidential campaign structure in Iowa, veteran political observers here say, with one going so far as to describe Cruz’s campaign as perhaps "the most sophisticated" the first in the nation caucus state has ever witnessed. Because of that grass roots organization, Cruz is primed to maintain his recent surge in the polls and win the Iowa Republican caucuses in five weeks, those observers say. Cruz, the Tea Party firebrand and first term U.S. Sen. from Texas, was the first Republican candidate to enter the presidential race, on March 23. Nine months later, he has...

Beretta USA says Maryland's tough new gun laws are the reason it's moving its factory to gun-friendly Tennessee. The American subsidiary of the 500-year-old Italian company has had a factory in Accokeek, Maryland since the 1970s. The company has manufactured the M9, the U.S. Army's standard-issue sidearm, since 1987 at that factory, which is about 20 miles south of Washington, D.C.

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi on Tuesday called on the House to take up legislation to ban guns from terrorist suspects, and said Congress needs to take this step to fulfill its duty to protect all Americans from violence. "We cannot remain silent," the California Democrat said at a hearing of the Democrats' Gun Violence Prevention Task Force. "For us to honor the responsibilities that we have to protect and defend the American people, we must not only have moments of silence, we must have days of action." "To start, we can and must bring up the bipartisan Deny Firearms...

President Obama used his address to the nation on ISIS and terrorism to push for gun control. "This is a matter of national security," Obama said from the Oval Office. Watch here: "There are several steps that Congress should take right away. To begin with, Congress should act to make sure no one on a no fly list is able to buy a gun. What could possibly be the argument for allowing a terror suspect to buy a semiautomatic weapon? This is a matter of national security," said the president. "We also need to make it harder for people to...

Smoking cannabis can induce psychosis-like effects, similar to the symptoms people diagnosed with schizophrenia endure, scientists have said. While past research as come this this conclusion in the past, the mechanisms underlying these effects are less clear. Now, a team of scientists at Yale School of Medicine have found the active ingredient in marijuana, delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (delta-9-THC) increases random neural activity, known as neural noise, in the brains of healthy drug-users. Via the Free Beacon, the first rule of politics in action: When you’ve got a big “success†on your hands, you’ve gotta tout it. Is it true, as she says, that gun violence is way down in California since they started passing more gun-grabbing laws? Sure. It’s also down in states that haven’t passed such laws. Gun violence has been dropping across America for 20 years now, although the decline has leveled off a bit over the last few years (possibly due to more suicides over economic despair). Here’s a stat I’ve seen before but which boggles my mind even...

In a 60 Minutes interview scheduled to air November 22, Washington DC police chief Cathy Lanier said taking out the gunmen in a Paris-style attack is the “best option†for citizens between the time they call 911 and the moment police arrive.

Representative Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) 58% (R-WI) 2014 gun control vote could present another obstacle to this path to the Speakership of the House. It is certainly one more aspect of Ryan’s past that caused Gun Owners of America to warn that a Ryan Speakership would simply be “Boehner on Steroids.” Ryan’s 2014 gun control vote came amid the emotional outpouring that followed Elliot Rodger’s May 23, 2014, Santa Barbara attack. Although Rodger passed a background check, registered his guns with the state–as is required in California–and only used ammunition magazines of 10 round or less, Ryan voted for Representative...

The highly influential Center for American Progress, which has deep ties to the Obama administration and Hillary Clinton, recently released an extensive report calling for the nation’s lead agency on gun regulation to be merged into the FBI.

The generalities of the centerÂ’s 182-page report were widely covered by media upon its release last May. However, the details in the report were largely unmentioned, including by conservative media agencies.

In a ruling that directly paves the way for mass confiscation of firearms in America, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, in a much-anticipated decision, has upheld the constitutionality of the New York SAFE Act of 2013. Shockingly, the court ruled that nearly all of the most drastic gun control law in the history of the United States did not violate the Second Amendment and is therefore constitutional. That’s right, a law passed in the wake of Sandy Hook that included and paved the way for confiscation of millions of legally purchased firearms has been ruled “constitutional”...

"And people that live in isolation, they go on the internet, they live their lives there, they get deeply disturbed, and then they get worse, and they commit these atrocious acts — there should be some intervention earlier." “And people that live in isolation, they go on the internet, they live their lives there, they get deeply disturbed, and then they get worse, and they commit these atrocious acts — there should be some intervention earlier.” Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush says the way to address mass shootings in the United States involves early intervention for people with mental health...
