"I'm not interested, I'm not interested," he says. But William Grant is persistent. "I only have one question," he tells the old man. "Are you interested in making money?" Identified women will receive a text about the consequences of not covering their hair with a hijab, police said. This would help prevent "resistance against the hijab law", police said. Protests were sparked last year by the death in police custody of Mahsa Amini, a young Kurdish woman arrested for allegedly violating the hijab rule. Since Ms Amini's death a growing number of women have been discarding their veils, particularly in larger cities, despite the risk of arrest. A police statement published by the state-run Islamic Republic News Agency said the system used so-called "smart" cameras and other tools to...

Can you predict the fate of following 8 programming languages: Java, Javascript, Python, C++, C#, Kotlin, Go, PHP?1. Java is the de facto enterprise standard. Having worked in some large enterprises, I know they are absolutely resistant to quick change and will keep Java for decades, like they did with COBOL. Java comes with enterprise and team features that other languages envy. 2. Javascript: depends on Web Assembly and transpilers. Even today, you can write in PHP and transpile in Javascript. It could become “the new JVM”, that is something that gets less used over time but everything use it...

Tesla employees shared customers’ private videos that were captured by the vehicles’ built-in cameras, including “scenes of intimacy,” “sexual wellness items” and a clip of a driver who approached his sedan while completely naked, according to a report. Nine former Tesla employees at the electric car maker’s Bay Area offices told Reuters that the sensitive video clips, one of which was said to have been taken from the private vehicle of CEO Elon Musk, were shared in an internal messaging system between 2019 and 2022. One former employee recalled seeing “embarrassing objects,” such as “certain pieces of laundry, certain sexual...

He sent ABC13 doorbell footage of the incidents. "I lost my cell phone, and I clicked Find My iPhone, and it says it was at this address," one person is heard saying. Most of...

China views public relations as an asymmetric weapon it can use to put other nations’ governments into conflict with their respective militaries. Its strategy is to have the Ministry of Foreign Affairs extend a generous economic carrot of trade agreements and infrastructure pledges, while the PLA wields an ever-present, ever-more-capable military stick. In addition, China has established itself as the indispensable economic heavyweight in terms of its ability to rapidly and efficiently fund infrastructure and development projects around the world, seemingly with few strings attached. Nations and their respective populations are told they can share in the economic growth that...

Do you remember Furbies? They were the hottest, creepiest toy of 1998. People got in literal fist fights over them in retailers across the United States. In some ways, the impish robots were an early version of AI. Their programming allowed them to learn some basic patterns of their owners, and their sensors allowed them to develop new behaviors over time, and even pick up English phrases like a parrot. The early internet was full of jokes about Furbies being our new robot overlords. Many of the Furbies were destroyed in Youtube videos to stop their imminent takeover. Now that...

According to a series of partially declassified documents, a highly classified AI system is capable of "seeing" and "detecting" UFOs. Unlike any other AIs in existence, Sentient differs in the degree of independence. Usually, the algorithm works with the loaded information, but Sentient can even direct satellites to obtain images of the objects it needs. Artificial Intelligence (AI) has fundamentally transformed the way we analyze data and conduct scientific research across various fields, including astronomy, engineering, and archaeology. With the rapid evolution of AI systems, we have now reached a point where secretive AI programs are capable of “seeing” and...
