As I read the headline on the Democrats’ new slogan, “A Better Deal: Better Jobs, Better Wages, Better Future,” I couldn’t help but wonder who would fall for a party with a “lipstick on a pig” mentality. The party is what it is and no amount of PR, marketing or rebranding is going to change who it is and for what it stands. Maybe more importantly, the Democrats can’t market their way out of the sheer contempt many of us feel toward its party.
