Koch Criticizes Charges Against Norman NEW YORK -- Democratic leaders including former mayor Ed Koch criticized the indictment of Assemblyman Clarence Norman on Saturday saying that Brooklyn District Attorney Charles J. Hynes was using the case to attract publicity. Norman, 52, was released on $25,000 bail Friday following an arraignment in state Supreme Court in Brooklyn. He faces up to seven years in prison if convicted on charges of grand larceny and failing to report a campaign contribution.
