Just returned from Circo Hermano Vasquez. Ringling Brothers was run out of business for using animals in its circus. But Circo Vazquez lives because it handles animals in a 3rd world cultural tradition that the animals understand ... until PETA hears this. In the middle of the show the midget (little people play a special role in Mexican humor) came out with a Donald Trump wig and was a live Meme (just a couple blocks up the street from meme guru Laz). The audience roared with laughter. The clowns and MC did their typical humor. Immediately after Trump left the...

UNIONDALE, New York — Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus folded up its Big Top for the last time on Sunday night in New York, as emotional performers, wistful crowd-goers and ecstatic protesters said farewell to an institution in American live entertainment after nearly a century and a half. The circus gave the final performance of "The Greatest Show on Earth" to a sold-out crowd at Nassau Coliseum, showing off its death-defying stunts and exotic animals for the last time after 146 years.

Friday at the Irving-Las Colinas Chamber of Commerce in Irving, TX, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) said some President Donald Trump political problems were “self-inflicted.” Cruz said, “What I’m trying to do is just ignore the circus.”

As judges on the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals weigh the legality of President Trump’s immigration executive order, a Republican push to split up the controversial court -- and shrink its clout -- is gaining steam on Capitol Hill. Republican Sens. Jeff Flake and John McCain of Arizona introduced legislation last month to carve six states out of the San Francisco-based court circuit and create a brand new 12th Circuit. They argue that the 9th is too big, too liberal and too slow resolving cases. If they succeed, only California, Oregon, Hawaii and two island districts would remain in the...

After much evaluation and deliberation, my family and I have made the difficult business decision that Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey® will hold its final performances in May of this year.

ORLANDO, FL (KTRK) -- For the first time in history, a female ringmaster is running the show at Ringling Bros. It took the circus 146 years and a nationwide search, but the opportunity to perform as the first female ringmaster seemingly fell into Kristen Michelle Wilson's lap. "I said, 'I have to throw my hat in the ring when opportunity like this comes along.' You go for it!" Wilson told WKMG-TV. Wilson plays the role so naturally that the fact that she is woman doesn't even come to mind. "This is not a gender-specific role. This is all about being...

Fresh off a victory over SeaWorld and its controversial orca program, animal rights groups are zeroing in on zoos, aquariums and circuses -- and one prominent expert warns your dog and cat could be next. A well-funded coalition of nonprofits finally broke SeaWorld, when the theme park chain announced in March it would phase out its popular killer whale program. Now the groups smell blood in the water – and on land. “The tide is turning against SeaWorld and other aquariums and zoos,” Ashley Bryne, a campaign specialist at PETA, told FoxNews.com. “I think this is a sign of what’s...

An ostrich at a circus in Munich was hit by a car and died shortly after animal rights activists opened its cage.It was around 9pm on Monday evening when as yet unknown people snuck onto the land that Kaiser Circus - along with its 80 animals - was encamped on.. Finding a trailer where the ostriches Nala and Zawo were held along with a goose called Fred, the culprits managed to unscrew the hinges and open the door. The animals then escaped and ran out into the night, according to local police.

The reality of human frailty in the face of such daring acts of impossible athleticism sunk in hard. We hope and pray that he makes a full recovery My love affair with the circus started as a child in Romania when a caravan coming all the way from Czechoslovakia, Yugoslavia, or Hungary would set up the big tent in an open field not far from the concrete grey cluster of high-rise communist era apartments we lived in. We were so dazzled by the lights, the bright and happy colors, the clowns, the caged tigers and the lumbering giant elephants, the...

During an interview on the FOX Business Network's Mornings with Maria, Former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay lashed out against the media for protecting Donald Trump. "The media won't report what's really happening on the ground... They will not investigate Donald Trump. When have you seen a story written about Donald Trump's sleazy business practices? There's plenty of stories out there about that. The media is protecting Donald Trump either because they want him to be the nominee against Hillary Clinton or they're big buddies of his. Most of the media comes from New York and they are buddies," he...

The Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus is ending its elephant acts a year and a half early, and will retire all of its touring elephants in May. The move comes amid increasing scrutiny of circus elephant acts with local governments passing "anti-circus" and "anti-elephant" ordinances in response to concerns over animal cruelty. The circus's parent company, Feld Entertainment, told The Associated Press exclusively that all of the iconic elephants will be permanently retired to the company's 200-acre Center for Elephant Conservation, located between Orlando and Tampa. The company announced in March that it would retire the full herd...

Wednesday's Republican debate turned into a steel cage match in Boulder, Colorado as Donald Trump tangled with Ohio Gov. John Kasich, and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush called on Marco Rubio – his political protege – to resign his U.S. Senate seat. As the CNBC hosts progressively lost control of the event, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz turned openly hostile, accusing them all of being Democrats intent on damaging the GOP field. Florida Sen. Marco Rubio and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie soon piled on the network, with Trump wrapping up his night by claiming he had strong-armed them into shortening...

You know how Donald Trump likes to bring up the polls in his speeches and remarks? I think he may shake that habit pretty soon. Ben Carson has taken a narrow lead nationally in the Republican presidential campaign, dislodging Donald J. Trump from the top spot for the first time in months, according to a New York Times/CBS News survey released on Tuesday. Mr. Carson, a retired neurosurgeon, is the choice of 26 percent of Republican primary voters, the poll found, while Mr. Trump now wins support from 22 percent, although the difference lies within the margin of sampling error....

I was going to hold off publishing my column for this Wednesday, but the betrayal of America by Fox News is so profound in hosting a debate for their own ratings and using the candidates like they were reality show contestants, I had to post it early. All the debate did was attract 24 million viewers to see Donald Trump zing Megyn Kelly, Brett Baier, and Chris Wallace, while the other candidates languished waiting for a question like dogs begging for a treat. It's disgusting and counterproductive.Did you watch the GOP candidate debate last Thursday? I did. I didn’t just watch it, I watched it...

Is "The Donald" in for the long hall, or is he going to "Pull Out" at the last minute -- like he has done so many times before? http://www.theguardian.com/world/2011/may/16/donald-trump-us-presidential-race I don't think he has demonstrated that he is in for the long haul. Therefore I have taken the liberty to give him the handle of Trumpus Interruptus! I confess that I was excited (as was his collective base) when he announced in 2012 that he was considering a run for the republican nomination for President of the United States. I was thus willing to overlook the fact that he was...

Baltimore Prosecutor Marilyn Mosby in the Spotlight Again, Pumping Up a Crowd at a Venue That Might Surprise You May. 30, 2015 8:08pm Dave Urbanski Since pressing charges against six Baltimore police officers in connection with the death of Freddie Gray, State’s Attorney Marilyn Mosby has been in the news quite a bit for other reasons. She was interviewed by Vogue and got invited onstage by Prince at his concert for Gray. Then she said her Twitter account was hacked after questionable “favoriting” of anti-cop posts; and a video surfaced of her appearance on “Judge Judy” from 2000. But on...

Clownville, a photo series featuring grotesque portraits of terrifying clowns, is the photographic nightmare of French-born photographer Eolo Perfido. Perfido says he was inspired by silent film stars like Buster Keaton and Charlie Chaplin, who were forced to exaggerate their emotions because they were unable to speak. Modern clowns first appeared in the late 18th century and were associated with circuses and comedy. The word itself comes from a Scandinavian linguistic root meaning “clumsy, boorish fellow.” This is why Perfido’s photography is so shocking—he’s transformed something funny and joyful into a vulgar terror. Eolo Perfido now lives in Italy. His...
