During an interview on the FOX Business Network's Mornings with Maria, Former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay lashed out against the media for protecting Donald Trump.
"The media won't report what's really happening on the ground... They will not investigate Donald Trump. When have you seen a story written about Donald Trump's sleazy business practices? There's plenty of stories out there about that. The media is protecting Donald Trump either because they want him to be the nominee against Hillary Clinton or they're big buddies of his. Most of the media comes from New York and they are buddies," he said. ..... < snip >
..... DeLay argued that the lack of detail on waste-fraud and abuse, spending and foreign policy was "very embarrassing for Donald Trump in the last Fox News debate and hasn't resonated with his core followers.
"Thirty-five percent are going with Trump... There's 64 percent that aren't going with Trump and the media refuses to speak up and talk to the 65 percent that are not voting for Trump," he said. ..... < snip >
..... So are Republicans handing over the election to Clinton? DeLay says, it's a ploy by Democrats to cover up their flawed candidate.
"Clinton is a flawed candidate, the Democrats are voting in our primaries because they want a flawed candidate to run against — and there is no bigger flawed candidate than Donald Trump. His character, his business practices, he's not a conservative. They would just love to run against Donald Trump because that will cover up the fact that they have a flawed candidate," he said. ..... < snip >

The country's liberal media is being accused of ignoring Donald Trump's alleged business scandals and past support for liberal policy positions and giving far more time to his events than those of his rivals.
When CNN moderator Wolf Blitzer appeared to help Trump in CNN's GOP debate by interrupting to move to other questions when it got rough for the Republican frontrunner more than a couple times on Thursday night, it was seen as an attempt to bail out Trump. ..... < snip >
During the post-debate session, Trump was interviewed twice. And on Saturday, CNN covered Trump events most of the afternoon, while giving hardly a few seconds to Marco Rubio.
It's not just CNN, MSNBC also had a town hall with just one GOP candidate, Trump.
"As of Friday, Trump's seven-month-old candidacy has been the focus of an incredible 684 minutes of coverage on ABC, CBS and NBC evening newscasts, far more than any of his GOP rivals more than four times as much as the next-most-covered candidate, former Florida Governor Jeb Bush (151 minutes), and more than five times as much as Texas Senator Ted Cruz (122 minutes), currently Trump's leading rival in the polls," pointed out Media Research Center's NewsBusters on Jan. 28.
"But amid that sea of Trump news, the networks have spent only about nine minutes (1.3% of Trump's overall coverage) discussing the candidate's clearly documented past support for liberal policy positions (i.e., pro-abortion, single-payer health care) and his praise of leading Democrats, including Democratic frontrunner Hillary Clinton." ..... < snip >
..... The New York Times, which ran an article about Rubio's speeding tickets, didn't write about Trump's alleged business scandals until it was brought up at the debate Thursday night. ..... < snip >
..... On CBS News "This Morning," Rubio said: "If any other candidate in this race had his record, there would be nonstop reporting on it. But, unfortunately, he is being pumped up because many the in the media with a bias know he'll be easy to beat in the general election." ..... < snip >

Interesting read, if only that we get other, fuller information (which may play a big role in general elections and affect down-ticket candidates) and points of view and are not just stewing in the juices of Drudge and internet insta-polls and "red states" political bloggers and selective anecdotal stories of relatives, friends, neighbours and coworkers. Now, we can reflect on it, ignore it, dismiss the author[s], facts or opinions presented, or attack the messenger[s]... but at least we would less likely be the "low information voters" like some of our opponents...
Obviously, You can’t only hear what you want in life, and ignore things you’d rather not hear about.
Over the years I've been in DeLay's corner supporting him against charges I thought were politically motivated bordering on criminality.
Now he comes out with this, and I have to say I am very sad to see it.
Tom is all in too. What a pitty.
Folks, at some point don't you think the GOPe is telling us who we need to vote for?
The powers that be are so over the top, it's very clear there is something they fear that they are not telling us, and I think it's North American Union related.
Right now we have the European Union open borders thing going on here with no intent on stopping it.
Trump is going to stop that.
This is what is driving them, and that being the case, I won't vote for anyone but Trump.
So now the enemy is just resorting to naked slander.
Well, as they say in law, when you don’t have the argument, and you don’t have the evidence, pound on the table.
Now we get to listen to how many people have a friend who knows an uncle who overheard a babysitter talking about how she heard that someone on Oprah say that Trump was mean.
LOL, pathetic.
I am so sick of the anti-Trump trolling of this site.
This is not Ted Cruz dot com.
Agree!
Delay is right up there at the pinnacle of Uni Party corruption.
Bet the farm he went to DC penniless and is now a multi millionaire.
Trump wil put his power out like blowing a match.
Wow add Tom Delay to the list of opportunists
The money quote.
I agree with your additional thoughts there too.
Thanks Kenny.
Not buying it
The media has been hitting Trump since he announced in June
The problem for them is Trump is “Teflon” their attacks don’t work on him. Heck he usually flips it around on them and that angers them even more
Any other candidate would have been down and out by now, but not Trump. They threw everything they had at him, the KKK/racist, war on women/sexist, hates Muslims, Hitler, crook, mob connections, IRS, “eminent domain”, bad business deals, bankruptcy, stooge debates, secret tapes that don’t exist, moderators turned instigators, etc and he still wins primaries. Any other candidate would have been done and out by now. But not Trump, sometimes their attacks end up energizing his support even more.
Is the media protecting the Democrat party and its crimes???
Tom DeLay: Cruz Has Problem on Citizenship Issue
So who is he supporting, Marco Rubio?
So you don’t like the anti-Trump trolling of this website. Well, tough luck my friend.
I followed this website for two-to-three weeks as a Cruz supporter before making a single post. I have seen Cruz supporters called traitors to their country for not backing Trump (a NY liberal who has supported with money Kerry, the Clintons, Pelosi and Reid), morons and idiots. Anything that’s doled out to Trump and his supporters on the website is well deserved.
Maybe you can explain, why I should trust Trump, who has been a Democrat/progressive all of his life to suddenly be the Moses of conservatism suddenly leading us into the Promised Land. I think the Trump supporters are gullible beyond belief and are backing a slimey man who has dumped two wives for mistresses, been a serial adulterer, owned a strip club, backed abortion for most of his life and now supports touchback amnesty. I WILL ANYTHING I CAN MORALLY AND LEGALLY TO STOP THIS GROSS MAN.
This morally and gross man as you put it, is the only thing standing between you and and the North American Union which will rule over our government.
So go ahead with your screeds, destroying your own children’s future.
I love you Trump supporters. You actually believe this guy is on your side. You have a lot of misplaced faith.
DeLay is just overzealous. Forgive him. That felony conviction was just overturned, so now he can vote again! DeLay had to miss the last two elections because felons can’t vote. He lost his sea legs.
DeLay and his ilk have been a millstone around our necks for far too long. Let him fade into obscurity. He’s just another irrelevant dinosaur, shrieking at the incoming meteor that is destined to wipe him out.
