A Catholic priest and a nun were taking a rare afternoon off and enjoying a round of golf. The priest stepped up to the first tee and took a mighty swing. He missed the ball entirely and said "Shoot, I missed." The good Sister told him to watch his language. On his next swing, he missed again. "Shoot, I missed." "Father, I'm not going to play with you if you keep swearing," the nun said tartly.. The priest promised to do better and the round continued. On the 4th tee, he misses again. The usual comment followed. Sister is really...

Currently authorized bivalent COVID-19 boosters demonstrated similar protection against symptomatic illness from the XBB/XBB.1.5 Omicron subvariants as from BA.5-related subvariants, according to a CDC study. From December 2022 to January 2023, the bivalent boosters' vaccine effectiveness (VE) against symptomatic infection was a similar 48% versus XBB/XBB.1.5-related strains and 52% versus BA.5-related sublineages, reported Ruth Link-Gelles, PhD, of the CDC's National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases, and colleagues in Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Reportopens in a new tab or window (MMWR). Meanwhile, Pfizer's updated booster demonstrated superior neutralizing antibody activity compared with the company's original product against all the latest...

FairTax gonna put a tax like 25% at the checkout stand ..... Say What? Yeah, 25% sales tax ..... uh-huh ..... yep. Maybe 28%, yep. I know what you're thinking: "OH HELL NO. GTFO!" I was posting intensely ten plus years ago about the FairTax. Went to Houston, visited Leo Linbeck Jr. who has since passed on. I studied the history of taxation. The initial GTFO! reactions did not deter, did not phase me. Why? Because 51 years elapsed between a flawed unconstitutional income tax passed in 1862 (quickly repealed) and the 1913 16th Amendment. ..... 51 fricken years. So...

First son Hunter Biden may finally be forced to reveal the identities of the people buying his pricey paintings — thanks to his ongoing Arkansas child support case. Former flame Lunden Roberts, 31, is demanding “detailed information” on the recovering crack addict Biden’s customers in response to the 52-year-old Hunter’s attempt to lower his child support payments for his four-year-old daughter with Roberts, court papers reveal. In September 2022, Biden appealed to an Independence County, Ark., court for his IOUs to be reduced, claiming “a substantial material change” in his “financial circumstances.” But Roberts, aware of Biden’s recent New York...

The word kielbasa (keel-BAH-sah) is Polish for "sausage." It stretches far beyond the large smoked links commonly seen vacuum-packed in grocery stores. Polish sausage may be smoked, fresh, or cured, and include pork, veal, or any variety of meats; some types are from pork shoulder, and others use scraps or ground meat. Many varieties of kielbasa have flavoring ingredients like garlic, juniper, and marjoram. Traditionally used in Polish cuisine, kielbasa can be boiled, baked, grilled, or cooked in other ways, and there are several great recipes to explore.

President Biden is a successful president who has built a historically impressive record during his first term, and if — or when — he runs for a second term, he will benefit from the support of an extraordinarily impressive group of Democratic governors, who possess a dose of political magic. One of the great untold stories of politics in 2023, which we can begin to remedy here, is the truly exceptional quality of many Democratic governors serving today, a significant number of whom govern with Democratic state legislatures.

CLEVELAND – A Parkland, Florida, man pleaded guilty on Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2023, to devising a scheme that defrauded several companies involved in the sale of polymers, including one business in Northeast Ohio, and multiple logistic companies, causing losses of more than $4.1 million. According to court documents, from July 2013 to January 2020, Terrence Anderson, 66, devised a scheme to steal shipments of polymers from businesses involved in the sale of the chemicals. The scheme was achieved, in part, by fraudulently obtaining services from logistic companies involved in processing rail shipments. Court documents show that Anderson owned and operated...

clown, familiar comic character of pantomime and circus, known by distinctive makeup and costume, ludicrous antics, and buffoonery, whose purpose is to induce hearty laughter. The clown, unlike the traditional fool or court jester, usually performs a set routine characterized by broad, graphic humour, absurd situations, and vigorous physical action. The earliest ancestors of the clown flourished in ancient Greece—bald-headed, padded buffoons who performed as secondary figures in farces and mime, parodying the actions of more serious characters and sometimes pelting the spectators with nuts. The same clown appeared in the Roman mime, wearing a pointed hat and a motley...

San Francisco 49ers rising star Brock Purdy is on the brink of making history. The quarterback could become the first rookie to lead his team to a Super Bowl appearance. He’s the latest rookie quarterback to guide his team to a conference championship. While Purdy has also won each of the seven games he’s started, he’s receiving praise for another reason – putting faith first. The former Iowa State standout has been open about his religion. After being thrust into the 49ers’ matchup against the Miami Dolphins in December, Purdy said he just trusted in God. "You go out there,...

Our First Look At Jim Jordan’s Bogus Subcommittee Speaker Kevin McCarthy announced the members of Rep. Jim Jordan’s already notorious subcommittee that is running interference for coup plotters, Trump, and his own members under federal investigation by targeting the Justice Department, FBI, and other “Deep State” players: A few notes: Rep. Scott Perry (R-PA), whose phone was seized by the FBI as part of its Jan. 6 investigation and who has insisted he’s not too compromised to serve on the subcommittee, didn’t make the cut. Democrats haven’t named their members of the subcommittee yet. Politico reports that McCarthy plans to...

Ukraine corruption scandal claims several top officials KYIV, Ukraine (AP) — Several senior Ukrainian officials, including front-line governors, lost their jobs Tuesday in a corruption scandal plaguing President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s government as it grapples with the nearly 11-month-old Russian invasion. Ukraine’s biggest government shake-up since the war began came as U.S. officials said Washington was poised to approve supplying Kyiv with M1 Abrams tanks, with international reluctance eroding toward sending tanks to the battlefront against the Russians. Zelenskyy was elected in 2019 on an anti-establishment and anti-corruption platform in a country long gripped by graft, and the new allegations come...

A Georgia police officer has resigned after he was told by superiors that he could not share his personal religious views on social media. “If someone somewhere considers an opinion I have—that isn’t a direct quotation from Scripture—to be offensive, then that would be a fireable offense,” Jacob Kersey, the former officer, told The Daily Signal. Kersey, 19, who began working last May at the Port Wentworth Police Department, in a jurisdiction just outside Savannah, says “everything was going well” until the start of the new year. On Jan. 2, Kersey posted a 20-word message about his view of marriage...
