Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass denounced what she called a “chaotic escalation” Sunday by President Donald Trump, after he federalized 2,000 California National Guard troops to stop riots against immigration enforcement. Bass, who failed to maintain order on her city’s streets Friday and Saturday as masked rioters opposed to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) vandalized federal buildings and attacked federal officers, joined the state’s elected Democrats in attacking Trump’s efforts to restore order. Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) and Sen. Adam Schiff (D-CA) also denounced Trump for his efforts to stop the riots.

During an interview with MSNBC host and NBC News Senior Business Analyst Stephanie Ruhle that took place on Wednesday, Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro (D) said that he supports the goal of the Trump administration’s investigations of campus antisemitism and threats to withhold funds and schools where Jewish students can’t go to class, get fair grades, or be treated fairly should be accountable, but “The way they’re going about it, like everything else, I think is chaotic and is reckless and is undermining people’s fundamental rights,” and people can say what they wish “within the bounds of the laws and the...

Senator Elissa Slotkin (D-MI) said Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press” that she did not oppose tariffs. However, she said President Donald Trump’s tariffs were “reckless and “chaotic.” Slotkin said, “I think most of us aren’t against tariffs full-stop. I think tariffs are an important tool in the tool kit. I think it’s just the way he’s handling tariffs is the way he’s handling everything else right now. We want change, but there’s reckless change, and then there’s responsible change. The way that he’s on again, off again, you know, pounding Canada as if they’re the exact same thing as...

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. on Sunday became a candidate for the Libertarian Party's presidential nomination, a shocking move that could give him enough votes to defeat Donald Trump or Joe Biden in November. Kennedy, who spoke at the convention Friday, was nominated by a delegate on the convention floor on Sunday to be the party's White House standard barrier. Kennedy's candidacy was met with boos from other delegates. His candidacy was short-lived, however. He was eliminated from contention several hours later, after the first round of voting, having receiving support from 19 delegates, just 2.07% of the vote. There was...

"It was just amazingly confusing, because there was so much complete misinformation," he told LiveNOW & Then. "It was chaotic. And of course, there were limits to anything we could do." As confusing as the day was, Bain said he...

Moscow has appointed Colonel-General Alexander Lapin as chief of staff of Russia’s ground forces, despite having been ousted as commander of the Russian Armed Forces' Central Military District in October, as Russian troops pursue a massive offensive in Donetsk, reports said Tuesday. The appointment was met with criticism from Russia hawks as Russian President Vladimir Putin looks to turn the tide in the near-year long war in Ukraine, where it has made little advances since it began losing territory in September. Lapin first received heavy backlash from top players in Putin’s war, including Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov and Wagner founder...

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The United States has embarked on a massive effort to create a secure digital driver's license system by early 2008 but some experts warn that the plan may be hugely expensive and lead to chaos. Congress passed the Real ID Act last May and gave states three years to implement it. It laid out minimum national standards for licenses, which will have to include a digital photo, anti-counterfeiting features and machine-readable technology. States will have to verify all documents presented to support license applications, such as birth certificates, Social Security cards and utility bills, with the issuing...
