I was a long-time, once very active member of Free republic. My screen name was DEFcon4, and I belonged to the N.E.Chapter of Free Republic, we travelled to DC to attend FR rallies, and freeped Clinton numerous times. I got the zot for posting a vanity critical of Fox News. It's Why You And I Hate Fox News. Perhaps ill-advised, and I wasn't in a good humor that night, but I've been on FR for seven years, posting fairly regularly and familiar with the luminaries. I'd like to have my old i.d. back. I've written to the administrators twice with no answer, and finally signed up again because I like to post on the Daily Talk thread.

I think that looks cheap... Like admitting defeat straight on... Is that really the case that the freepers can not bring up a decent argument against the performance of this guy so it need to censoring out? This is the best what can be done ? Really need to give this kind of ammunition to the lefties?

I have signed up here several times and posted informative articles and given witty commentary only to return and sign on later and find nothing but a purple screen with the words "account banned or suspended."
