  • BRAKING HARD!! Free Republic has become worse than Pravda

    DEFcon4's post ^ | June 15, 2005 | DEFcon4
I was a long-time, once very active member of Free republic. My screen name was DEFcon4, and I belonged to the N.E.Chapter of Free Republic, we travelled to DC to attend FR rallies, and freeped Clinton numerous times. Voted for Bush Senior, and W on his first election. I am a tried and true PATRIOT. I believe in the greatness of the USA, in which I grew up in. I am not a liberal, conservative, democrat, republican, or any other label that people like to try to pidgeonhole others with - I am a patriot of our country. When I...

I got the zot for posting a vanity critical of Fox News. It's Why You And I Hate Fox News. Perhaps ill-advised, and I wasn't in a good humor that night, but I've been on FR for seven years, posting fairly regularly and familiar with the luminaries. I'd like to have my old i.d. back. I've written to the administrators twice with no answer, and finally signed up again because I like to post on the Daily Talk thread.

I think that looks cheap... Like admitting defeat straight on... Is that really the case that the freepers can not bring up a decent argument against the performance of this guy so it need to censoring out? This is the best what can be done ? Really need to give this kind of ammunition to the lefties?

I have signed up here several times and posted informative articles and given witty commentary only to return and sign on later and find nothing but a purple screen with the words "account banned or suspended." Just what the hell is that? What is the problem with you people? I'm not treated like that anywhere else on the internet! You've got some 'splainin to do. Learn some freakin manners, ok!
  • Davis Says Circumstances Beat Him, Hints of Return

SACRAMENTO — After five years in office, Gray Davis leaves the Capitol today on an ignominious note, the only California governor ever recalled by voters. But far from being chastened, the 60-year-old Democrat has surprised longtime associates with a reaction that some characterize as deep denial of his fate. He has hinted at a political comeback — sometimes in a joking fashion, at other times seriously — noting that his removal from office so early in his second term means he still could serve another term as governor, said people close to Davis, all speaking on the condition of anonymity.

COUNTING EVERY READER Al Gore is said by associates to be surprised that his newest books on family aren't selling well. The pair of books co-written with wife Tipper Gore (one of them is a coffee-table book intended to serve as companion to the "heavier" tome) are apparently headed toward the remainder bin as bookstores move more popular and potential Christmas gift fare into the line of sight of customers. "We aren't selling any," says a sales associate for Borders Books in Bethesda, Maryland. "And we thought given that this is kind of a political book and that it's by...
