I so tire of people saying: "Well, I like Herman Cain, but, he can't win." Well, I think the Florida Presidential Poll yesterday said differently. Cain received more votes than Perry-winkle and Rino Romney put together: Cain: 37% Perry: 15% Romney:14% And Perry worked his butt off and spent a lot of money. The Floridians ate the dummy's free breakfast, endured his perfunctory speech and then went and voted for someone who actually has some ideas and can put a sentence together and explain his ideas. I think it's time for Herman Cain to be taken seriously.

Two Georgia pols went in; one came out a winner at the state GOP’s presidential straw poll Saturday. Herman Cain, formerly an Atlanta talk radio host, took 26 percent of the vote to nab the first-place spot. Newt Gingrich, who represented Georgia in Congress for nearly two decades, finished fourth with 18 percent of the vote. Continue Reading In between were second-place candidate Ron Paul, who fell less than 1 point short of Cain’s total, and Rick Perry, who drew 20 percent. The full standings, from the Atlanta Journal-Constitution’s Jim Galloway, who notes the lack of enthusiasm for Mitt Romney...

Watching the debate is painful. Why did Herman Caine even show up? The interviewers refuse to even ask him a question. For that matter - I almost forgot Newt was even there. They are spending all their time setting up a Pawlenty/Bachman slugfest... throwing bones to Romney and Santorum. Of course, Ron Paul manages to make sure he doesn't get ignored. Update - they finally asked Caine a real question.

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – Michele Bachmann and Hermain Cain top the presidential wish-list for conservative women at this year’s Smart Girl Summit. Bachmann was first and Cain a close second in a straw poll of attendees. Both are considered hard-line conservatives. “That does signal that they are gaining some traction among social conservatives, who sometimes are encouraged to go with people who they think might be more ‘winners.’ This time they’re going with people who are ‘believers,’” said St. Louis Beacon reporter Jo Mannies. Cain actually spoke at the conference, and called for elimination of the Enviornmental Protection Agency. Both...

Herman Cain defies the stereotype of blacks as liberal. And his embrace of conservatism and rugged individualism might make him the Republicans' best salesman – and counter to Obama. Black candidates must be especially image savvy to navigate the delicate contours of today’s racial politics. They must cultivate racial appeal, without provoking racial resentment, and expend their racial capital, without succumbing to the litany of stereotypes whites associate with them. We thought Barack Obama mastered this art, believing future black candidates must learn at his feet. But Republican presidential hopeful Herman Cain might prove more teacher than apprentice. My co-author,...

I am a conservative, and a strong supporter of our Constitution. I do not believe that our Constitution needs to be re-written, I believe it needs to be followed, especially on the Federal level, which, I believe, has grown far beyond its Constitutional mandate. In my mind, Herman Cain, represents America’s best chance of moving the Federal Government back toward the limits set for it by our Constitution. From everything that I can learn, Mr. Cain has proven that he has a deep love for America, the highest possible regard for its founding documents, and a deep respect for, and...

In an interview Wednesday with CBS News, Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain described homosexuality as “a sin” and “a choice.” Appearing on the CBS News web program Washington Unplugged, Cain told CBSNews.com senior political reporter Brian Montopoli “I believe homosexuality is a sin because I’m a Bible-believing Christian, I believe it’s a sin,” he said. “But I know that some people make that choice. That’s their choice.”Montopoli followed up, asking Cain if he thought gays and lesbians were making “a choice” to be homosexual: Cain was asked: “So you believe it’s a choice?”“I believe it is a choice,” he responded....

Via Matt Lewis, Team Cain is calling this “The Herman Cain Train Music Video†but let’s stick with my much snappier title (which actually figures in the clip). A tantalizing tidbit from PPP for all the Cainiacs among the readership: Herman Cain tied for 2nd in Iowa numbers we’ll release tomorrow I was thinking today that he’s the only person in the field for whom running this year is all upside. Romney and Pawlenty could embarrass themselves by flaming out; Bachmann could disappoint in Iowa, which is supposed to be her stronghold; even Huntsman, although a longshot, could underperform by...

In the contest for who can put together the most exciting and entertaining campaign video, Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain may be as unstoppable as the “Cain Train” featured in his video. Filled with inspiring and humorous quotes taunting Democrats and promoting his credentials, Cain could very well be on his way to convincing more Republican primary voters to take him seriously. Cain promises: “When I became President and CEO of Godfather’s Pizza, it was supposed to go bankrupt. But I didn’t get the memo. We turned it around with common sense business principles. And we can turn this country...

Hypothetcally, if it came down to Cain or Palin in the primary, which one would you vote for?

Donald Trump decided not to run for president. I have mourned and have moved on. Herman Cain is now my favorite. Why? Because he's not a politician. He is a human being capable of understanding what people want and need. He understands that we have been pushed around for the past four years and cannot take it anymore. Cain has beaten cancer, and now he'll take on America's sickness, Obama – and I believe he'll be two for two after the 2012 elections. Cain said during an interview on Fox, "America is ready for an unconventional candidate. … Whenever people...

I first wish to state I like Herman Cain because he comes closest to what I seek in a president, I hope he gets the nomination and wins the presidency. I just don't know how it is possible that he is doing so well. According to the main stream media this is impossible! Conservatives, Republicans and Tea Party activists are racists! Both of Herman Cain's parents are African American, unlike Obama who's mother was white, so he is actually blacker than Obama. Maybe Tea Party, Republicans and conservatives are actually socialistphobes, maybe they fear the white half of Obama and...

On Saturday, Herman Cain made it official; he’s running for President of the United States in 2012. This is good news! I have been waiting for a candidate who I can support, who I can believe is a conservative, and I believe Mr. Cain is that candidate. He has been a Tea Party favorite pretty much since the Tea Party movement began, and now that he has announced his candidacy, support should grow even larger as more and more people see and hear him. In his Monday column at WorldNetDaily, Mr. Cain addresses three “negatives” skeptics point out about a...

‘How many of you think Herman Cain won the debate?” Twenty hands shot up. “Well, we can stop right there,” said Frank Luntz, a fast-talking political consultant, as he paced before a Fox News focus group on May 5. “This is unprecedented.”

While it is clear from the outset that a large percentage of lurkers and posters on FreeRepublic are staunch supporters of Sarah Palin, there are nonetheless a significant if considerably smaller number who avidly support Herman Cain. My curiosity piqued by this fact, I decided to watch Herman in his interview yesterday on “2012 One-on-One” with Chris Wallace, FOX NEWS Sunday. As the show opened, Chris ran a videotape of Herman at a campaign stop where he commandeered the stage with an undeniable presence, arms spread expansively, and said “Once I am president, Americans will be able to say, “Free...

In his 20-minute speech, Cain took numerous shots at President Barack Obama, accusing the Democrat of abandoning Israel, overseeing an "anemic" economic recovery and a failure of leadership. The rhetoric delighted the crowd, many of whom waved signs with slogans like "Yes We Cain" and "How Can We Beat Obama? With a Cain." But Cain also offered a few policy initiatives, including plans to permanently extend the Bush-era tax cuts and to pursue an independent energy policy.
