  • Pittsburgh Settles Off-Duty Police Shooting Suit

    insurancejournal.com ^ | Dec 3, 2010 | insurancejournal.com
The story in a nutshell. A drunk off-duty Pittsburgh police officer mistakenly identified the wrong man, pistol whipped him, and then shot him. The officer was fired from the department, then mysteriously cleared of charges, and then rehired. So in Pittsburgh, drunk police officers can drive vehicles, assault and shoot an innocent bystander, not serve jail time, and be rehired by the department. 1) "Mr. Miller had said in his U.S. District Court complaint that an off-duty Mr. Abel grabbed him by the shirt, ordered him to the ground, put a pistol to his head, struck him with the gun,...

Some very interesting photos posted by Detroit Congressman John Conyer's twenty year old son on his plixi photo upload site. I wonder how the minor son of Rep Conyers photographed himself with a bottle of Moet in a tax payer funded 2010 Cadillac Escalade while in the drivers seat with vehicle turned on? Hmmm... How did he get the key? Conyers states he was unaware that his son was using the vehicle when it was robbed this week, but what about this past June as well when the photo below was uploaded? U.S. Rep. John Conyers, D-Detroit, said he didn't...

Basically, a female Detroit officer was charged with felonious and aggravated assault. Eventually, the Sgt. would plead no contest to aggravated assault, a misdemeanor. Detroit PD fired her and she was higher immediately by another department and now promoted to Deputy Chief. Plus throw in she is suing Detroit for firing her from the police. Highland Park Mayor Hubert Yopp states he did not know this officer was charged with a felony before she was hired. However, the Highland Park knew about her criminal background and still hired her. Two weeks ago, there was a photo released of the White House covered in a tarp but without any explanation. At this time the Obama's were partying it up in the Gulf Coast for a pre-Cape Cod vacation while everyday Americans are facing 16% unemployment. With the outbreak of Bedbugs in Washington DC, does the tarp around the White House indicate that it was fumigated due to an infestation? While I hope the White House is safe from this Environmentalist/EPA caused pestilence, it would be rather amusing if true. Caption: "WASHINGTON - AUGUST 15: A view of a tarp covered...
