Like a lot of things in life, the journey to ultimate winning is going to be paid with a bunch of uncomfortable moments and some hard truths.

It’s too early to declare ultimate victory. Time will tell.

Most aircraft accidents are a series of unrelated mistakes. Planes don’t usually have massive failures without a lot of little failures first.

In the past couple of days I’ve read and heard a lot of pilots talk about how little things like looking at a dial might cause the plane to rise up a bit. I’ve heard how the message from the tower might have caused the pilot to look “right” when they should have looked “left.”

For example, those two little things would be insignificant alone—but combined the impact is significant.

I know people think DARPA is the Darth Vader of mil spending. But, they do some cool stuff.

More accurate? Does that mean it will hit within 2ft of the target? Because we were doing that 30 years ago.

It looks like someone driving onto a highway, not looking for oncoming traffic.

In the end, I think this is all on the pilot of the Blackhawk. They “merged without looking to their left.”

I said to my wife this morning that if this second crash was presented as, a 44 year old jet that was based in Mexico crashed on takeoff in icy conditions in Philly….the story would not sound sinister. It would “make sense.” You would read it and say, “Yeah…that sounds tragic, but I get it.”

Instead…we get Twitter Pilots talking about missiles.

That’s just the savings from the people running the programs.

Imagine an operation with 5,000 employees who had to sit through a four hour DEI training. That’s 20,000 labor hours that have been saved. Add on another 5,000 hours of those people going to and from those trainings (and bitching about them.)

25,000 labor hours represents 12 Full time equivalent employees.

The multiplier effect is staggering for these programs.

I worked in “process re-engineering” in the ‘90s. We used to run into this stuff all the time. People don’t like an ‘outsider’ looking over your shoulder. I understand the feeling, but I learned that some times you need to be a bit uncomfortable to move things forward.

This whole ‘efficiency’ thing is going to send people howling over the next couple of years.

I think it’s funny. A lot of folks won’t think that way.

When we were children we were taught to write using proper grammar.

These days, ‘journalists’ write colloquially. Sometimes it is difficult on the eyes…but it is what it is.

How is this a “conspiracy theory?”

Evidently it had just taken off, so it was moving very fast. And it would have been full of jet fuel.

Based on several tweets it was a Learjet 55. Not a piper cub…but a small jet.

I appears to be a Lear 55, that was taking off out of the north Philly airport. That would explain the speed, as they were within a short distance of the runway.

The thing looks like a missile hit.

That pilot posted on facebook today. I don’t think she is a zombie.

I know this is a horrible thought…but I keep thinking about not watching where they were going and wondering if there was an Asian woman driving?

Unlike middle eastern terrorists, the Cartels will not just lie down.

If we use SOs against the cartels, expect the families of US senators, congressman, and administration folks to be butchered.

That will get some folks’ attention.

And they wonder why people want to move to stores of value that are not controlled by the government.
