WASHINGTON—In laying out the checks and balances of democracy, authors of the U.S. Constitution imagined that the president and Congress would wrestle for power when their authority conflicted, each fighting for influence. “Ambition must be made to counteract ambition,” James Madison wrote.
President Trump’s ambition has been sweeping and muscular in the first days of his new term, producing less of a transition in government than a takeover. Congress, by contrast, has all but forfeited the match.
The result, if Trump’s assertions of power survive the courts, would significantly rebalance power in Washington, centralizing unprecedented authority over federal spending, executive-branch personnel and a range of policy subjects in the Oval Office at the expense of Congress—the branch that the nation’s founders envisioned would have the more direct connection with voters and their interests.
Congress has passed laws governing asylum for immigrants, but Trump unilaterally suspended them for those coming from Mexico, saying the laws had become “ineffective” amid an “invasion” of illegal border-crossers. Congress set the length of service for commissioners on the nation’s labor watchdog board and a commission that polices workplace discrimination, but Trump last week fired several of them midterm.
Congress has mandated that a president give 30 days’ notice when removing inspectors general, the independent watchdogs at agencies, but Trump fired a number of them without warning. And Trump moved to pause spending for a range of programs approved by Congress, including those under the landmark infrastructure and renewable-energy laws signed by former President Joe Biden.

Trump vs. congress! goliath vs. BIGGER goliath and OH YEAH...IT’S ON! interesting times we live in.
This is beautiful. After generations of Congress ceding power to the executive, suddenly they’re worried about him having too much power??
Suck on it, losers. You made your bed, now you have to lie in it.
It’s called the Three CoEqual Branches of Government. That means
Co equal dummy!
It’s amazing the micro-management that Congress gets to, considering all the major issues not addressed.

BEST ENTERTAINMENT I HAVE HAD IN YEARS.
Where were these hawks when Biden was doing what they claim Trump is doing?
I think most of this is a reaction to the horrible track record that Biden created.
in other words
Constitutional Authority
Congress is half women. It’s no contest. The 19th Amendment has been skating on men being Gentlemen for over 100 years.
Today, women in politics has brought us “Gentled Men”, like Graham and Schumer.
So all of a sudden NOW is the moment for checks and balances to come into play?
What about when Obama and Biden ignored the legislative branch when the GOP controlled it?
Now all of a sudden, the legacy media is a champ of the Constitution!
LOL what hypocrites
He’s still not as bad as Joe Pedo who claimed he had the Powers of God.
As far as evidence shows Trump has not acted outside his executive authority granted by the Constitution. Keep in mind most of what he has done is not related to Congress but to agencies that are under the Executive branch. Congress may pass laws and give the rule making authority to those agencies but that does not change who they answer to. A big clue is if the one in overall charge of the agency(cies) has the “secretary” in his or her title, Trump is the big Kahoonie.
Rupert Murdoch, the owner of the WSJ rag, is upset.
This is just the beginning. More pain is coming for those with TDS, much more. /spit

Congress has been do nothing since 2009. They are good at nothing they were intended for by our founding fathers.
They ARE good at selling us out to the CCP. They are also good at being compromised by Americas enemies and WEF globalists. They are good at giving the American people over to the merchants of of Big Pharma while they exempt themselves from the evil.
They allowed Obama and his installed dementia carcass to do anything and everything that China and the reprobate vile enemy’s of Americas freedoms desired.
They allowed the CIA, NSA, FBI and every other ‘intelligence’ agency to run amok and work without oversight or comment. Unlimited Special Access Project funding with zero concerns or oversight.
Or Obama. He did a couple too.
