I know that, but it's required to have citizenship documents on file to get a Real ID compliant driver's license or ID card. My wife had to file a certified copy of her birth certificate plus a certified translation in English to the DPS in addition to her Ukrainian passport in order to apply for a Texas driver's license. When my wife got her US citizenship, that information got forwarded over to the Texas DPS. Her mother who is currently in the US has a Texas ID card. She had to provide all that data to the Texas DPS to get the ID card which she uses for any purpose an ID is required like going to a doctor's office and boarding a domestic flight in the US.
