  • Dear America: What Will You Do When G.W. Bush Surrenders to Mexico?

In the old days immigrants came here LEGALLY or were sent home. That's the way it SHOULD be. Now, our LAWS are meaningless.

    AMEN.

  • LANDLORDS BLAST ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT RULE (FARMER'S BRANCH)

I wonder which documents the ordinance specified as acceptable for proof. It shouldn't be a problem for the landlords provided the City specified which documents are acceptable as proof. The burden shouldn't be placed upon the landlords to prove the documents legit but rather that they were provided and appeared legit. It will be interesting to watch locals who have resided in the area all their life have to dig up the same info upon moving into a rental unit.

I would assume that proof of citizenship (birth certificate or US passport) would be all that would be required of US citizens, and US visas are actually fairly hard to fake. Unfortunately the US government doesn't like to show people what those visas look like so it's difficult to look at one and say 'yes, this is real.' I haven't seen samples on the USCIS's website at all.

I imagine that a better statement would be that the girl was extremely unconfortable discussing homosexuality in terms of "a minority heterosexual in a primarily homosexual community" and "the origins of homosexuality". I imagine she felt a lot like Lot did.

I'm not religious so I'll take your word for it. :-) It did sound like a very silly assignment. If the idea was to teach children about tolerance they probably could have used a group other than homosexuals since many people do find them objectionable. They don't really bother me; I think America is facing much bigger problems!

But we're told: "She politely thanked Gwen but called her to say she and Guy disagree on the children wearing clothes that blatantly promote people's personal brands. She was touched but wasn't sure if Gwen was secretly trying to get publicity by sending her the gift."

The polite thing would have been to simply say 'Thank you.' I know when I send someone a gift I'm not expecting a personal political lecture in return; if I got one that'd be the last time I ever sent them anything.

Madonna has also called up Angelina Jolie and expressed disappointment, saying it isn't fair that she has to suffer accusations when others - such as 31-year-old Angelina and Brad, 42 - are free to live their lives and adopt two babies from overseas without any accusatory glances or comments.

Isn't 48 a little old to be pouting and throwing your toys out of the crib, stomping around and whining how UNFAIR it is? Geez, grow up.

There are definitely bad things going on in school nowadays but I would not agree that the assignment violated the girl's religious beliefs. Christianity states it's an abomination to BE a homosexual, not to hypothesize what it would be like to be one. I would disagree with the girl's reasons for not doing the assignment, but I do think the assignment was stupid. It was especially strange that the kids were asked to keep it secret.

  • Swiss national's U.S. stay nears end (record store owner to be deported)

For some reason, ICE decided to invest time and money to make sure our immigration laws are fully applied to this law-abiding, home and business owning immigrant and his family who came to the U.S. legally and had applied for permanent residence. Like he said, he should have come over the Mexican border.

Yeah; they wouldn't have been allowed to deport him then, that'd be RACIST.

The guy was charged three times in the past two years with driving without a license. He was lucky to have not opened a record store.

Woolly Liberal or Hispanic Activist: "But the illegals aren't hurting anyone. They're law-abiding. They're just trying to find work, trying to find a better life."

IMHO this man is a MURDERER and there isn't a cliff high enough to throw him off of. He is worthless SCUM.

Then why not just raise your hands and surrender this country.Because that's whats going to happen if we don't fight this illegal immigration invasion.

I'm so sick of these people breaking and entering into the USA and not being punished for it.

Sooner or later the American people will come to their senses and remove the democrats from power and that will be one of the issues that will remove them from power.

I'm not sure the Democrats are the (only) problem here. Illegal immigration has surged since Bush took office; it's much worse than it was under Clinton. I think in some ways some Republicans are more in favor of illegal immigration since it provides large pools of cheap labor (which is good for profits) and some Democrats may be against it because the illegals take jobs from unionized American workers, as they did in the meat packing plants. It's not as simple as 'Republicans are against it/Democrats are for it,' since sometimes it's obviously the other way around.

I don't know what the new Congress intends to do about illegal immigration, but they better not be considering amnesty or they'll have riots on their hands. How do you invite 15 million MORE illegals? Give the 15 million illegals already in the United States amnesty and a damn green card. When I think of all the hoops my husband had to jump through to get his it just makes me furious. NO TO AMNESTY!

I believe you. It is a little unfashionable to support any party right now, but the UK, and specifically England will not be lost until I, and those who think my way are dead.

    We are here.

That's good to hear. Being American, my loyalties obviously lie elsewhere...but I hope the UK doesn't go down the same path that France did. As one of the US's firmest allies, it would be a tragedy to see the country bend to Islamic fascism.

Unfortunately I can't think of any mainstream political party in the UK that seems to want to take up the fight. :-(

Sorry, I was a bit snippy then.

The UK isn't done yet, and as long as I have breath it never will be.

I want you to know I am being 100% sincere...it is fantastic to see a patriotic Brit. It's a very rare thing for me; it seems like every Brit I meet wouldn't care if this country was taken over by...well...anyone.

I for one am TIRED of everyone giving up on Britain and saying that it is COMPLETELY MUSLIM. That's akin to saying there are too many Mexicans living in the US and because of this the majority of America is Catholic. Balderdash!

The thing is...the PC brigade and the government seem to have already given up on keeping Britain great. I'd love to see the UK get through this and emerge stronger and better for it, but I can't lie; I am not optimistic.

More than a bad idea. Millions of more lock-step Democrat voters will be the death of us. The inmates will OWN the asylum.

Oddly I don't know any Democrats who favor amnesty. I know there must be some but since I don't know any of them I can't ask them...WHY?!?!?!?!!

This looks pretty serious -- what do you think?

This won't bring Blair down; he's already on his way out. It's just yet another corruption enquiry in a massively corrupt government that got into office due to the UK's being tired of the Tory party's corruption.

In some ways Tony Blair has been fantastic for the UK; in other ways he's been a disaster...but either way his time is up and it's high time he left office and let Gordon Brown in so he can lose to David Cameron in the next general election.

Yeah I'm kidding for now, although there have been a couple of lawsuits filed here in Massachusetts by inmates seeking a sex change.

We're still safe until our kooky supreme court ever gets their hands on it.

The thought of anyone getting that sort of surgery for free is nauseating. I think it's awful that they use invasive and irreversible surgery to correct a mental problem.
