Two soldiers died Sunday in a roadside bombing in Paktia, Afghanistan. They were 1st Lt. Jonathan P. Walsh, 28, of Cobb, Ga., and Pfc. Michael J. Metcalf, 22, of Boynton Beach, Fla. Both were assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 504th Infantry, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, N.C.

A third class cadet was arrested today by Fountain, Colo., police and charged with sexual assault in the first degree (physical helplessness). He is currently in the custody of the Fountain Police Department. If he is released on bail, he will return to the Academy where he will continue as a cadet pending the outcome of any potential legal action. Remember, in America, everyone is presumed innocent until found guilty by a court of law....

As many of you know, my daughter is a Cadet at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs. She's at the football game and Security Forces are out in full force and full gear. Supposedly there is a just released Al Queda tape just released showing a film of the cadets marching into the stadium with an Arabic announcer spouting threats. They are taking this seriously and have begun briefing the Cadets. I can't find out anything on the news sources yet... HAS ANYONE ELSE HEARD ANTHING?

Sometimes what is truly breaking news is not what is reported but what isn't......It's been three days since the storm hit....Where is the world? The Cadet Wing at the United States Air Force Academy is under lockdown in their dorm rooms at this time. My daughter stated that they have posted Protection Forces at the Dormitory entrances (MP's with M-16's and full battle gear). The cadet's have been instructed not to use the stairways (which are glass surrounded). Rumors are running rampant including a Al- Queda possible bomb threat against the Academy chapel to a possible lone gunman.... As information flows in I will update....
