The Cadet Wing at the United States Air Force Academy is under lockdown in their dorm rooms at this time. My daughter stated that they have posted Protection Forces at the Dormitory entrances (MP's with M-16's and full battle gear).
The cadet's have been instructed not to use the stairways (which are glass surrounded).
Rumors are running rampant including a Al- Queda possible bomb threat against the Academy chapel to a possible lone gunman....
As information flows in I will update....
Any Academy Grads with contacts please update and post...

While I would never discount the seriousness of a threat, remember that Al Qaeda is made up of cowards. They're neither brave enough nor stupid enough to penetrate an Air Force base. (I hope) Prayers still going out for you and yours.

BTW, my daughter is in contact with her Naval Academy friends and they are NOT under lockdown. This appears to be specific to USAFA...
They have escallated the threat level to the facility before but nothing like this since 9-11....
This is a complete lockdown....

This used to happen at Texas A&M all the time, too, when I was there (George Bush Presidential Library). Hope all is well...
